My fx350 with duel mass flywheel is slipping in 4th gear. Could it be my fault? Is WoT at 4000 rpm in 4th gear on the freeway just asking to much from any clutch or is the fx350 just not up to the job?

I'm currently running 300hp 300wtq with the 27won turbo. Thanks for any input.

Nope, it's just the natural progression of that clutch. Limited life span, terrible engagement, etc.

Time to replace. It's a great opportunity to grab the FK8 retrofit.

is the type r retrofit better than fx400? Is that why everyone swaps to that

Type r retro is the best clutch option
Seriously? Damn didn’t do enough research I guess. This will have to be a future upgrade then because I already have the clutch and flywheel as of Monday and don’t want to wait any longer

My Fx350 lasted 10-12k miles tuned on flex fuel w/ oem turbo at the time. Now running Type R retro, best thing I ever did haha.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Most people I've seen with issues went with the FX350. I also have the FX400(6 puck sprung) with their single mass flywheel. Been running it for 15k miles so far. No lockout issues, no chatter, no lose of grabbing ability, never had to adjust the clutch master cylinder and engagement height feels the same as stock.

I honestly dont know why people choose the FX350 over the 400 anyways. Maybe I've got a lead foot but in my experience, it's not as stiff as most people will lead you on to believe. And it performs fine as my daily.
