The black bracket is an OEM Honda part that only came on the hatchbacks. It can be purchased from any Honda dealer, but will not help your camber. Did you pull the pin yet?I feel like fool asking these questions.
My car never came with that black bracket.
-What is it?
-Where can I find it?
-Will it help my driver's side camber?
Yes, both set pins have been pulled from previous alignments. The black bracket is an OEM Honda part that only came on the hatchbacks. It can be purchased from any Honda dealer, but will not help your camber. Did you pull the pin yet?
I would guess that something that you did not replace was bent. SPC makes a set of adjustable ball joints that can give you a degree of negative camber that would help you out here.Yes, both set pins have been pulled from previous alignments.
I put replaced the drivers side strut a few weeks ago after another wreck (hit a curb going around a corner) because it was likely bent and the strut mount was torn.
Yes, both pins are out and the tech spent a good while doing his best for a centered steering wheel and the vehicle tracking straight.
Do you think it could be knuckle?
SPC says it can only be adjusted up to -1.0 degree. All i need is -0.7 so that should workI would guess that something that you did not replace was bent. SPC makes a set of adjustable ball joints that can give you a degree of negative camber that would help you out here.
you get roughly -0.5 in negative camber. To answer your second Q maybeee? lol its really dependent on the place you go to but if my ass can figure it out... a shop should be more than capable. How much can you adjust the front camber? and also, Can i take this to any place and show them the pdf file to adjust the front?
How much tire clearance can I get from a -.5 negative camber ? From your experience how did the -.5 benefit you?you get roughly -0.5 in negative camber. My B for the late response! For some reason i missed this reply! Well when i did the guide pin removal i also installed my D2’s. I ended up with -1.0 camber. I fit 17x9 +40 on 255/40/R17 tires under that puppy with no rubbing issues. However if you have the 2018 models or earlier you’ll probably have to do the “tab mod”(literally just bending a little tab under the fender right where the side marker is). Later models didnt have that tab im referring to. I think you can get away with just the guide pin removal to clear my current setup with no drop though. I have SPC lower ball joints now so im actually at -2.0 up front BUT before that mod i was planning to get new tires 265/40/R17. Although im sure i really would have rubbed but according to my calculations it should have fit lol so if you want to go more aggressive guidepin removal plus Lowerball joints are a must. Spc joints give -1.0 so -1.5 With the guidepin removed. Use willtheyfit.com to compare wheel setups and feel free to use mine as a base since you already know they’ll fit with no issues. Bottom line try to keep your overall wheel and tire diameter to about 645mm (stock Si wheel setup 18x8 +50 on 235/40/18) Anything after that With +35 offset you’ll have to do some body work. Will they fit website shows all these stats of they setup you input. Hope this helps! How much tire clearance can I get from a -.5 negative camber ? From your experience how did the -.5 benefit you?
Thanks for the detailed response, now I have an idea the whole front camber situation for us tenth gen model civics. I asked because right now im running some 18x9.5 39 and its got a really slight poke in the front, I was thinking maybe some slight negative camber could tuck that poke in for a more flush fitment. but I am not sure how much negative camber is needed to do that. How exactly do i know how much negative camber i need in the front for a more flush fitment? Im running some 245/40/18 but want to run some 255/35 or 265/35, but i know the poke will be much more apparent because theres more meat covering the wheelsMy B for the late response! If you’re going 255’s or 265’s with that setup get the SPC ball joints For sureee! Haha no way around it. Procivic.com has them for a really good price. If you want to get nutty i think there is another adjustable lower ball joint out there that gets you -2 instead of the Spc -1 Camber buuuuut i honestly cant recall who makes them. okay sounds good. You think I should just go for the guide pin removal first and see how -.5 camber gets me without the spc ball joints? And if its not enough i can go for spc ball joints. Cause I'm lookin for just a slight camber. Is -.5 substantial enough? If you’re going 255’s or 265’s with that setup get the SPC ball joints For sureee! Haha no way around it.
