I put this in the wrong Forum earlier. Hopefully I can get some replies here.

I just picked up a 2020 Civic LX Sedan and wanted to know what the best options are to install fog lights? I noticed that the OEM part number that appears to simply install into the cover plate area is "08V31-TBA-100H".

Did the blank plate area change from 2017-2019 to my 2020? The after-market "DRL" and "Mustang-style" versions don't seem to list 2020 as a compatible model year.

Thoughts?

Stock "blank plate" instead of fog lights.

2016-2018 are the same.
In 2019 they changed to the current design.

It usually takes awhile for aftermarket companies to update their sites for the current year line up.
They have to confirm fitment just to be safe.
You are usually safe going with the previous year when selecting parts.

In Canada they are a dealer-installed option. They are very expensive though (over $900.00).
The 2020s are LEDs, I think. The old ones were not.

Go to "Build your Honda". in the Honda Canada website.
The foglights are an "exterior option" that you can add to your build.

I believe the deal is that Sensing (and the RADAR) became standard on the LX in 2019. Not 100% sure, though.

Yes, $900 is a bit much for the OEM foglight option. I guess I'm looking for some aftermarket ones that would be an option.

I installed the fog light kit on my 2016 LX back in 2018. I’m sure it is very similar to the 2020, just with the new redesigned vents.

It was a good 6-8 hours of work that required removing the bumper. But it was not hard.

The OEM kit for my 2016 was around 350$ I think. It is all plug N play. The dealership will give you step by step instructions if you request it.

You’ll have to:

-Remove the bumper
-unscrew and replace the vent pieces with the new ones that have the hole for the fogs lights
-run a wiring harness across the aluminum impact cross beam with some zip ties to the drivers side, then into the firewall to the driver’s footwell.
-plug the wiring harness into some accessory ports that the car already has available
-bolt the ground wire to a spot in the footwell where a bunch of other ground wires go
-Install the new turn signal stock that has the switch for the fogs (easy)
-put the bumper back on

It’s a good weekend project if you want to save 600$

Anyone know if there’s a way to do fog bulb w/o taking off bumper? One of mine burnt out after 23 months. Luckily it’s under warranty with Oracle lighting ( barely) . I don’t like taking off the bumper cause it weakens the plastic clips

Would you happen to have the part number that you used on your 2016 LX Sedan?

Since you have the hatchback bumper with the big waffle iron fog covers, it is possible to remove them from the front without taking the bumper off.

I believe it can be done from underneath as well by removing some of the undercladding, but gives you much less working room.

I haven't taken the fog/fake vent covers off on my Si yet, so I don’t know how to, but I know that it is possible.

Why isn't the LX listed? /confused.
IS the EX the LX in the States? why change trims per country?

I went the $100 eBay route and added LED bulbs and couldn't be happier with them on my 17 LX. Install was easy. I sealed up each bulb assembly with clear silicone to eliminate any moisture getting inside. So far, so good.
