just go for an after market exhaust if you have the money go with the valved exhaust such as remus, boostlogic etc. if you don't 27won just released a new exhaust that doesn't hurt the bank that much but the quality is top notch also includes front pipe their exhaust design has probably one of the best ones to eliminate drone. it almost seem that honda really built the stock exhaust to be replaced on purpose lol

That’s what I did and worked like a charm.
Did either of you guys go light on the dynamat or full coverage. I thought you could put a bit on each panel to "dampen" it but it seems people typically just blanket the trunk (hatch) with full coverage. Since you had positive results, how much did you apply? Thanks!

I only did the bare part of the bed of the trunk right under the foam tire pressure holder thingy. I went to put some under the side of trunk where the felt lining is but there is sound dampening blankets under those so I just decided to keep it on the bare metal part and if it didn’t help I was going to pull down the side wall felt but it helped a considerable about just for covering up that little bit. I used Noico on Amazon the 80 mil one and it’s heavy. Good luck with the drone hope this helped.

i had fatmat which is the equivalent to the regular dynamat. i did the entire trunk and i also pulled the side panels and did the wheel wells for tire noise. i also had the foam sheets left over from my old car so i used that on top of the fatmat

I forgot to mention, but due the nature of Type R – ( it has not too much insulation to reduce weight), if you want to make the car quitter & think aftermarket exhaust as an option, you will be disappointed –you could eliminate drone with some options, but raise decibels dB with others – this upgrade is the opposite of what you are looking for. The only thing I could think of, the 2020 model is coming with exhaust amplifier, pray it has a noise cancelation as well. Some cars come equipped with both.

No just like loud music so I can't hear the drone I guess if there is any.
A person in our neighborhood club dynomatted the whole trunk and secondary lounges and all entryways it's extremely tranquil inside. Presently he claims a speaker shop so may have it helpful and free. hop onto best drones 2020 to check more information about the bestselling drones and Newest products
