Odd as you are near stock tire size so width/speedo shouldn't come into play. 2-3mpg drop seems wrong for this unless those tires are causing you to have more fun.

Sure role-resitance is why they slap hybrid type, crappy tires on cars now but the FK8 came with pretty sticky tires to begin with, so...odd.
The 245/35’s are almost a 1/2” taller than the 245/30’s. Width is the same. I lost 2-3mpg and my speedometer is off by 3mph. I know because I have a Escort 360C radar detector with GPS that shows speed.

It should create a 4% error in the speedometer (on top of whatever error was there from factory). So at 75 MPH, the 3 MPH error is dead on.

These are the highest single tanks # I've recorded on Fuelly:

83 8/4/19 388.40 11.284 34.42 3.279
94 9/8/19 374.30 11.270 33.21 3.549
81 7/30/19 345.00 11.658 29.59 3.519
59 5/11/19 342.30 11.181 30.61 3.399
102 10/10/19 339.80 11.639 29.20 3.179
98 9/22/19 331.20 10.275 32.23 N/A
103 10/17/19 331.20 11.079 29.89 3.159
95 9/12/19 327.20 10.942 29.90 3.199

Almost all of them correlated to some long distance highway drive to some autoX, life time average MPG is about 26.5 which I think is just about middle for the Type R listed on Fuelly...
Note I also don't drive particularly fast on the interstates(usually just slightly over speed limit) and that 388 tank is mostly sub 70mph because its actually not on interstate(55mph state highway).
