For me, the top "cap" with the shift pattern digs into my hand after while of driving. The way it is raised over the leather irritates my palm. Maybe i should learn to shift better? Lol

Don't know what to replace with though.....
I have a knot in the stitching on the leather part that annoys me. And add me to the burned hand in the summer group.

The thread is the same. I know the flange nut on the Type R (and hatchbacks) differs from the SI, I'm not sure how much of a difference it'll make though.

Stock knob is ok but best one I have used is a BMW ZHP knob. Been thinking of adapting one as the mount is not threaded, would also need to change out shift pattern emblem as their 6 speed has R to left and up rather than right and down.

I'm just curious on why people are changing their shift knob?
Because I'm a huge nerd. ;-)

Originally I went with a Sickspeed knob, currently I'm using a longer one from Amazon. Pretty much anything that isn't metal will work.

True, the metal ones will burn you in the summer! I went with the weighted, all-leather SuperKlasse one. Matches the stock Si interior pretty well

I got a countersunk one to lower the knob about 20mm. Quicker shifts and does not get the way of my hand as much when reaching for something like the radio or cubby bin.

I got the 27won black with red stitching. It's no more or less comfortable than the oem knob to me however, it is winter. The oem knob is pure fire in the Florida summer.

I have big hands and the stock one is just to small and awkward for me.

How big is that compared to stock, and do you have more pics?
