Has anyone else experienced loss of tire pressure through rim leaks?

Over the last 2 months, 2 of the 4 wheels/tires have had to be disassembled, had rim corrosion cleaned off them, then reassembled and re-balanced. It has been another major disappointment with this car.

Please let me know if you had similar experience.

I had one tire that was leaking a few psi per week, which required me to put air in it every 2 weeks or so. It was very annoying. This was right around where you are at, 29-30k miles. I bought different tires after that because I did not feel confident driving in wet conditions with those tires. No more leaks.

I have been having atleast one tire leaking slowly for about a year. I think more are leaking now and very slowly. It is killing me. But now that I know I am not alone and that potential rim corrosion is the issue I can see about fixing that. Just sucks being out of warranty. I am at 40k. Hate to pay for mount and balance just to clean the rims. But if it fixes my issue then I am ok with it I guess.
Thanks guys.

I had my OEM wheels and tires on for about 35k with not so much as a single TPMS light triggered and only topped off the air maybe every 4-5 weeks.

I had a tire leak around the bead. I even had it rebeaded, and it didn't help. I suffered 5 months from going 35-38psi to 20-25psi in just a couple days. I then put my snow tires on and was so relieved. Now I just need to get tires for my aftermarket wheels so I can stop driving on stock wheels.

The all-seasons suck in the rain.

The all-seasons suck in the rain.
Not just suck, they were downright scary. Horrible water evacuation.

They are fun tires to throw around corners, due to their stiff sidewalls and the back tires would squeal a little bit when taking a turn really tight. In the dry they were predictable. But being scared every time i got caught in some heavy rain was no fun for me.

So is this an issue with the wheels or the tires? I had a problem similar to this previously on an old civic but never solved the problem. Not that is matters as I am out of warranty but is this a warranty issue? If I get the tires dismounted and rims cleaned up (assuming they are crapped up) will this solve the issue. I just don't want to keep going back and forth to the tire shop if they don't fix it, although they should stand behind their work. Maybe I'll swing by their shop and ask them.

I didn' t have any pressure issue with the Eagle Sport mounted
on original rims. I got rid of them (sold for 400$ ) because they
were awful in the rain and had very little grip on the dry.
I bought PS 4's and that' s a big difference in any condition,
even on the OEM rims. Then, I bought lighter and wider rims
and now, it's almost the paradise of road handling !

I have this problem as well. I lose 5-10 psi every week so I stop at the air pump every time I go to the gas station. 32k miles 100% stock except for full acuity shifter upgrades. I hope replacing the tires fixes the issue.

I had a chance to get to the tire store and they took apart a tire / wheel combo for me to look at. The outer and inner inch or so of the wheel are corroded and pitted very badly.

Dealer wanted $80 per wheel to sand down the affected areas. I told them to go hell and went to Discount Tire where they helped me out for free. They took a drill with a ball/steel wool attachment and cleaned up the affected areas. (Will definitely go back to them when I need tires)

Anyway be on the lookout for this issue if you live in a state that salts the roads in winter! As of January 2020 l have now had all 4 wheels lose pressure and activate the TPMS light.

You should add abit of tire slime to your tires if you’re prone to leaks. Basically if it ever detects air it’ll seal up that area

Find a better tire shop. A had bead leak problems with my Accord and finally went to a better shop and they explained how they clean the wheel and some kind of sealant they use. He said they don’t want to speak bad of their competition but they may have been lazy. He said they almost never see recurring problems. It worked for me. The did all 4 wheels for less than $50.

Yeah I am waiting to get new tires next summer they will address it permanently. But for now I couldn't argue with free.

I found the issue with rim leak, it is probably due to there being a sticker on the tire that they left on around the bead. It probably dried out and started to leak. I found out once I debeaded the tire and it was directly where the sticker was. So I removed the sticker with a small screwdriver, pumped air back into the wheel to rebead the tire and thus so far no leaks. We will see in a week or so. I did 2 tires today because of this issue. I suffered about 5 months last year with a slow leak before I put my snow tires on, I checked today and 2 were completely flat.
