For what it's worth, this is the testing I am referring to. The key aspect here is that it was done with the same car, same conditions, same dyno, with a knowledgeable operator.

Interesting results. There's a member here that compared the two back to back with totally different results. I own both tunes and his dyno reflects my butt Dyno comparison between the two.

There has been Dyno graphs from people that actually have both, including myself. No difference in +9 and TSP stage 1 while WOT.

Like I said, I have both which makes it easier to compare versus drinking just taking graphs from different dynos. I'm not into the "he said, I said, she said, graph shown on site, etc". I do the testing myself.

To me, they both feel the same WOT.
There has been a lot of issues with Hondata base tunes. Especially on the 10th gen FB groups, there seems to be many issues with them compared to ktuner basemaps and TSP maps.

Care to share link for our references? CVT owners do not have access to 9 psi Hondata tune. I’m currently using 3 psi base tune with torque limiter set to a conservative limit.

The reason I use 3 psi because knock control was high when I used 6 psi base tune but temperature in my city is hot (33-36 c).

Knock control range between 44% and 58% with 3 psi tune with no knock count but fuel trim need some adjustments as stft ranging between -11%-0.

U must be dreaming
Well tell that to Eman or DRob who tuned the most 10th gens. Hell even the best Honda tuner Vit doesn't like hondata for 10th gens civics.

Being objective here...

Having owned both Hondata and KTuner, I see a definite bias against Hondata among a large portion of the non-Type R owners here. It's pretty clear. Could be a number of reasons for it. Vit and D-Rob prefer KTuner, KTuner (JR) is more active here, KTuner costs less, etcetera. As far as "Hondata base tunes having more failures"... I don't know about that. From what I see from the tuning reliability survey, base tunes from both companies are relatively safe. Most failures come from adding bolt ons and not adjusting the tune properly, adding way too much power or abuse, frankly.

All things being equal, Hondata is as good a product as KTuner. They just have a somewhat different feature set. Personally, I prefer my KTuner V2 for the practicality and convenience of the touch screen. But ultimately, both tools accomplish the same thing.

Yet Derek Robinson the best 10th gen civic tuner recommends Ktuner over hondata and even has a trade in program. He tunes older civics with hondata but says Ktuner is far superior for 10th gen civics.

As one of people with initial ECU support, I really don't see significant difference other than KTuner V 1.2 price is more attractive. KTuner V 1.2 pricing does make sense for initial support consumers than Hondata Flashpro IF the consumers don't need to import KTuner and have to deal with paying delivery cost and taxes (about 40% of the retail price in my country).

I am worry about Hondata Civic Gen 10 basemap damaging a lot of consumers' car and I hope to find as many as references as I could so I can seek clarifications from Hondata, or maybe a support to take a look at their basemap.

I did notice a high knock control as high as 80% when using 6 PSI basemap. WIth current 3PSI basemap, knock control hovering between 44% and 58% with 0 knock count. Both of the basemap tune did share similar issue which is STFT mean ranging between -11% and 0%.

I have purchased TSP Stage 1 tune and will do several runs of datalogging. I will purchase reliable custom tune service that I could afford if knock control, knock count, and STFT reached to the level that I don't feel comfortable.

Basically, I'm happy with 3 PSI basemap but the fuel trim tuning. Hopefully, TSP Stage 1 tuning at least fix the fuel trim issue. Additional power increase within safe range of the engine components reliability and longevity will be a bonus to me.

Having said that, I am still hoping any member who has experience with E-Tunez provide feedback. I've read the case with ethanol tuning issue involving e-tunez but I want to gather feedback from anyone who use E-Tunez service for performance street tuning.

That’s my tuner  the one who made tsp stage 1 and 2 tunes that both Ktuner and hondata uses.

My comment regarding bias was about the TSP Stage 1 tune specifically.

I don't work for KTuner or Hondata, and I tune both brands literally all day, every day, for a living.

KTuner is the superior means of tuning an L15 currently.

If you enjoy limit tables for everything, running out of injection window early (without running the car lean, that is), and incorrect software number flashing, then by all means, use Hondata.
