Wife bought a 83 hatch new when we were first married. about 6k otd iirc. was impressed with the little Civic's reliability. I have seven cars now but my winter DD is a 03 Civic with 250K. Just so economical and still fun to drive with the 5 speed. Had no hesitation buying my 18 SI. Just knew it would be a keeper.

I’ve noticed since I’ve been on the civicx forum there’s a lot of older people that own civics I’m not talking about a base model LX ( which is pretty nice for a base model) I’m talking about 1.5 turbos and SI’s and TYPE Rs and tuning them most of the older members have 10 to 20 years over me I’m 51 going on 52.
Is it that we all remembered the civic as a small econo box from the 70s and 80s and it’s now a cool looking machine ( all body models) ?
Is it that you can tune them ?
Or is it that it’s still is a affordable economy car that’s practical and fun to drive?
For me as I posted before in 2018 as I was turning 50 years old I wanted a turbocharged coupe and Honda had one as the civic. Some people said it’s a ricer car and tuner car maybe so. I’ll have a K-tuner in the near future and the only music coming out of the stereo in my civic is Rush and joe satriani
There aren't many cars that are fuel efficient, quick, fun and reliable. Usually they have some of those characteristics, but not all of them and some may argue reliability is up for grabs at this point with the Xth, yet I still trust it over many other cars. Perhaps not Toyota, but there are no Toyotas in this range that are this good. :)

I looked at Toyota’s also their great cars but they didn’t have what I wanted which was a turbocharged coupe

Exactly. I had been looking for a fuel efficient, turbocharged car for years and was going to get a Dart. That FIAT 1.4L gets very good fuel economy as well, but they stopped making them and the Civic Si was just as fuel efficient, but made more torque and power. I'm pretty sure I made the right choice. :)

I’ll put it to you this way. I. Live in Florida which is the biggest retirement state in the U.S especially on the west coast of Florida so these are older teenagers driving SI’s :)
( if you know what I mean)
I know what you mean haha I don't see a problem with it, it's just that they don't where I live.
