I finally bought a set of wheels for my FK8. I went with the Rays Gram Lights 57CR 18x9.5 +38. Now I am in the process of buying tires. I want to get a 265/35/18 but worried it will rub since I am lowered on swift springs.. Is anyone running this setup and have any rubbing issues?

I run 255/40 on my 18x9.5 wheels. I am not lowered so I don't have any rubbing issues.

The CTR aftermarket wheel thread should help you on tire size with lowered setups: https://www.civicx.com/threads/civic-type-r-after-market-wheel-guide.13994/

I've gone through the entire thread once and most I've seen with a 265 width tire lowered tends to rub with the car loaded with passengers, and slight rubbing with no passengers. You have to keep in mind, 255 vs a 265 from tire manufacturers can vary. Some can be more square when mounted or stretched.

Here's my 255/40 Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position RE970AS tires. It's a tiny bit stretched.

I have 18x9.5 +38 wheels, lowered on swift springs. I had the same dilemma over the summer.

Was going between 265/35, 255/40 and even 255/35 to play it safe. After a lot of research and talking to a bunch of people who had set ups similar to what I was looking into, I decided on 265/35 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. No one had the exact tires, wheel specs and swift springs at the time but it worked out perfectly.

No rubbing at all ever in any mode even with a full load in the car. No fender rolling needed, no fender liner trimming needed and even did not have to fold the front tabs by the sidemarker.

I really wanted Michelin PS4S but knew they would rub in 265/35. Would of had to go down to 255/35 to work. The Indy 500s run narrow. They are the narrowest 265 good performing tire I have seen. Love how it looks and highly recommend this particular set up.

It's funny you bought the Indy 500's, those are the tires I was leaning towards. Reviews and pricing seem good, so I don't think I can go wrong with them.

So happy to hear that they work perfectly with the same wheel and spring setup I have, I really didn't want to modify my car to fit wide tires.

Thanks again really appreciate it. Do you have a picture of your car? Would love to see it!

Might not look like it in the picture but the wheels sit 100% flush with the body of the car. You are going to be more than happy with the set up. The fitment is perfect. This is coming from someone whose last car was bagged and is obsessed with fitment. I miss it since it is winter. Can't say anything bad about the indy 500s.

Hey Orchid, how you liking the 57CR? Any pictures mounted now?
I haven't mounted them yet, my car is going to the body shop soon. I wanted to wait until I got the car back home. I will post pictures once I have them installed, I still need to buy lug nuts lol.
