Hey guys,

I know the 2.0L isn't the most popular on this forum, but I thought I would have found at least one person that tracks their 2.0L. I'm really thinking about picking up another set of wheels and some sticky tires just to be able to get out there and have some fun on the weekends... Thoughts? Or even better, a 2.0L Civic owner that has fun with their car?

I wish I had a track to take mine to. I would have a blast driving around a track with mine. The only thing is not having the limited slip differential like an Si. Going around turns and pushing down on the gas causes the inside tire to spin to much. So you would have to get some really sticky tires and stiffer suspension to try and compensate. But still would be fun to try

I already have some tein coils, they feel great but the problem is i'm running a pretty big stretch on my rims so I'd have to get some wider tires.

And thanks, I completely forgot about new pads... I'll put that on the list.

Yeah I'm not really trying to break records or anything like that, I just wanted to have the option to do it.

I mean I see Miatas are a pretty popular car at AutoX so I guess power shouldn't be that big of a problem.

Yeah I ain’t gonna lie, the new Miata MX-5 RF is tempting to get. Good performance and looks, while still managing decent gas mileage.

I'm not talking about the new NDs. I'm talking about the NA/NB miatas. They're even slower than my car lol.

Lol oh I see. But I would definitely upgrade rims and tires if you want to track with it. Should do good

I had my butt handed to me by a 2.0 at a recent cold and damp autocross day. *here come the racer excuses* it was my first day at autocross, he had 15 years of experience.

My car : 2018 Si on Eibach prokit, TSP 1 tune and factory Goodyear A/S tires.

His car : 2018 Lx sedan on Re-71 and eibach RSB.

My best time was 65 seconds , his best time was 55 seconds.
His times were in line with some more serious cars like 370Zs.

Autocross is more about grip than all out power, plus the NA power is an advantage due to its throttle response over the 1.5T.

He was running 235/40/18 RE-71s and the Eibach 22mm Rear sway bar. Everything else on the car was stock.

I’m sure you will get faster with practice. But you are right about the throttle response. I own a 2018 lx sedan with the 6mt and the throttle is instantaneous. This why I have so much fun driving it. But when I drive the hatchback with the turbo the lag is noticeable. It spools pretty fast, but it definitely ain’t instantaneous like the 2.0na. So you’ll just have to practice to compensate for that little lag coming out of the turns. But yours being an Si has better suspension and a limited slip differential that should give you an advantage around the turns. But the 2.0na definitely ain’t slow so I can see it being competitive on a track.

I took my 2.0 to the Wake the Dragon event last year and had a blast.

I'm lowered with Z rated tires and pushed my car hard. I was hanging with the Si's and CTR's pretty damn good. In fact, several people commented that they were surprised I was in a LX.

I did feel like I was missing some throttle response coming out of tight turns though. Hopefully, running KTuner this year will help with that. I can't wait!
