Painting the rear emblem was a good idea.
Painting it on the car with brush enamel wasn't such a good idea.
Hindsight's 20/20, learn from my mistake. Mask if off, and spray paint it.
Having said that, I'm still happy with the results, and you have to look closely to see the flaws.

I'd try to maybe blackout the chrome around Si as well, leaving the red. Would complete the look imo

That would take a lot more skill.

Not sure if I'm up to the challenge right now, but you've planted the seed!

I like how you debadged the "civic" but left the Si emblem. Looks good! I might do the same thing in the summer.

Black emblem also looks good with the blacked out window trim. I personally like the blackout look too, but wish it came that way from the factory. Like isn't it cheaper to use unpainted black plastic vs fake chrome trim around the windows anyways?!

How difficult is it to get the Honda and Si emblem off? I'd prefer to do that to paint them then put them back on.

There are two plastic pins on the back of the 'H' emblem. That go though holes in the trunk, and are fastened with starlock washers. On my 2020 coupe I wasn't able to get to the starlock washers, and would have had to break the pins to remove the 'H' emblem.
The Si emblem I haven't removed yet. It might just be adhesive.

i took the giant H (their largest ever) off my Type R (wannabe) Ridgeline and using backing and then remounting without starwashers, (mine popped off before I got tailgate acceded so that was a waste). Since the entire emblem was flat and filled in the DFT still holding after 3 years (use some heat for best bond.

I filled the voids with hobby acrylic tinted red, then lots on UV spray paint clear coat. I

Intent was to put magnets in the bottom of void parts before pouring and pop them out like jello for more copies. Just press these into your R, presto!

Great idea gone bad as acrylic adhered to my OEM test H spare I bought. I even used the recommended anti-seize but that’s for silicone molds not metal apparently, Prototype is it, wanted to be able to share/sell if it worked out as removable but who knew, oh well.

Had to be creative as no one makes this XXL H in Type R red. At least R ones are avail for Civic. Results are not threatening JDM but not too shabby.
