New allocations will be here soon to dealers in 2 to 3 months and people will be buying the 2020 by May 2020. The UK swindon plant will not close until 2022.. we will see 2021 CTRs but probably a limited special final edition. Or they will just produce 2020s until closing and we wont see the next gen ctr anytime soon until the u.s. plant comes online. I dont see us having a new CTR until 2023 . Thats my theory.
I'm confused. What am I wrong about? We both agree that 2020 is not going to be a full year. The plant is closing in 2021, not 2022. Lastly, I don't think we'll see 2021 CTRs. Based on Honda's past generations.. the 4th year is 2020. What evidence do you have of them making a 5th year sell of the CTR?

USA Today mentions some layoffs will happen end of 2021, and the plant will close sometime in 2022. so yeah I dont think we will see a 2021 but the 2020 will be for sale in a few months not next fall

3.5L V6 with VCM? What, is Honda reviving the J series? This looks more like some old Acura prototype.

It closes in 2021 as Honda stated in a press release - https://hondanews.eu/gb/en/corporat...ase-production-at-its-swindon-factory-in-2021

The drivetrain you posted isn't true either. The next R is going V6 with what appears to be a mid-size sedan chassis?

Thanks for more BS and made up assumptions with conflicting corporate statements.

BTW is your 2018 R for sale at $40K yet since it's paid off or is the dealer going to trade you for a 2020 with cash back?

I highly doubt we will ever see a V6 Civic, especially when the entire industry is moving away from 6 cylinders in favor of turbo 4s.
Interestingly, Porsche moved from a Turbo 4 to a flat 6 in the new 718 (Cayman/Boxster) GTS. Some speculate that buyers don't like the idea of a $90k sports car with a 4 cylinder, no matter the performance/power/torque.

This thread lol smh...The one major thing I don’t like about the 2020 is the 2 different style grills on the front and back of the car. I also noticed the bumper inserts (the border) protrude more out unlike the 17-19 which are more flat. Not a bad thing. (Anyone know of planned options for those with oil coolers or who plan to get oil coolers with this new bumper insert) I also heard from someone on IG that the new rear grill inserts don’t fit with the rear Mugen kit if you tried to do the conversion. Also you’d have to cut into the rear bumper to make it fit properly. ( again for those thinking of doing the conversion.

I just got confirmation from my sales manager tonight that they will be receive a 2020 Civic Type R champ white sometime in late March , early April 2020. So they start building it the end of FEB 2020 and my deposit is already in at MSRP no accessories. My 2018 Champ white CTR will be going up for sale for 36000-37500. I will easily get this price for my car due to the fact all the dealers around me Mark the car up 5k above MSRP
