450/430 needs upgraded clutch? No?
You will most likely need a clutch at some point. We destroyed our stock clutch during testing, but the clutch already had some wear and tear on it. Even if the factory clutch held this power, I can bet that it won't be for a long time.

Yeah I was banking on prl having a good turbo option, their proto type was a drop in upgrade so I new the updated one would be as well. I'd hate to have spent all of that money on parts literally starting from intake/inlet all the way through to the end of the exhaust, and then get a kit which usually has a custom intake/inlet, downpipe, charge pipes. I already have the prl versions of all of those lol.

I'm curious what to see what this can get on the stock fuel system at a safe afr. I'll need a new clutch regardless, and at least rods and pistons if I want to go way past 400ft/lbs

Also, @PRL Motorsports is there a reason why the hot side isn't pictured?
Yes, the turbine housing has not been finished. It is rather complex and has been taking a bit longer to finalize design and renderings than the rest of the components. We plan to have more pictures shortly.

Is this turbo moving the torque band across so not to put strain on the engine like the stock turbo does?
Yes, this is exactly what this will do. Spool/response should remain similar to stock (probably a couple hundred RPM of lag in comparison), but without the massive torque spike of the factory unit.

Quote me if I'm wrong but the R doesnt seem to come alive until 3500rpm, does that mean were looking at a range starting from close to 4000 now with this turbo?

With the PRL turbo, you're making more torque (than stock) as low as 2500 rpm and way more at 3000 rpm:

so how does Prl turbo compare to the full-race BorgWarner EFR 7163 Turbo kit? Would it be wise just to wait for the prl turbo already owning all their bolt ons or sell and get a full race kit?

min my personal experience I’d wait for PRL, they always tend to lead the pack. Just my thoughts.

Yeah, I’d wait and see more details on the PRL turbo. Summer 2020 is just around the corner. It’s almost February as we speak. Hang tough.

@PRL Motorsports I think when everything is ready you should allow me to bring my car to your shop so I can purchase and have you guys install the P600 drop in turbo, turbo inlet pipe and intercooler pipe kit.

It's hard to say, being that our turbo hasn't been tested yet, but our kit should spool better than any big turbo kit on the market right now, and is still compatible with all factory/factory/location components.

With this being a drop in, will the turbo blanket I have on the stock turbo work with it? or is that TBD?

The stock turbo blanket will most likely not work, but that will be determined at a later date.

Buy another and sew them together lol.

Seriously though, it would be really great to wrap up that furnace right near the MAF sensor. So glad I have a blanket

Thanks. Hopefully once everything is squared away you will have recommendations on what to use or possibly even package it as add ons during purchase.

Was just about to email and see if there was any news, and here it is.. Holy god I am excited. I've already got a PRL street downpipe, intercooler, charge pipes, HVI, and inlet pipe. Like damn, are you guys gonna start selling your own engine soon too!? :D

Thanks so much to you guys for putting so much time into the Type R, even when your Si business is probably much, much bigger and would make greater returns (I would think, anyways..). Really shows you guys care about pushing the envelope for the sake of it, especially in the wake of very little actual competition.
