My purchase was admittedly spur of the moment. A dealer near me had CW and was selling below MSRP. I had tried to buy one in 2017 at "MSRP". The dealer had said they weren't marking them up but when the real paperwork came out they had added "options" and suddenly it was over 40k. Anyways, neither here nor there.

When the '19 popped up on my radar I jumped on it. Suddenly I had a car with summer tires on it in October in Northeast Ohio. I started looking for other cars and researching winter tires. I hadn't really had an adult "fun car" before so I started asking friends for advice. The response I got back was unanimous; put some winter tires on and enjoy your purchase all year long.

This is a long winded response of saying I made the decision to daily mine and I'm so happy I did. I can't imagine not driving the car most days.

That said, I know others will read this and cringe. But that's the great thing, we can all enjoy this car in our own ways. Some keep them stock, some mod them out, some daily them, some barely see the light of day. Enjoy your CTR whether it's a '17, '18, '19...or if your waiting for a 20.

Is that from Redline Goods? I used one from them on my S2k, and while it turned out fantastic, it's a fair bit of work. You're in for a fun weekend. :D

I've done them before, time consuming but steady, detailed work gets excellent results! These are made by Auto Interior Technic.

Lol great comment, let everyone be happy. Saving money all your life doesn't guarantee you will be able to spend that money. Only thing certain in this life is that we are all going to die. Only problem is nobody knows when. I say enjoy life with moderation or buy a Type R when you are 65 lol
I'm 70 and buying a 2020. Enjoy life and remember money is not everything, your time and enjoyment is much more important.

There will be many looking perfect, most ctr s are hardly used as daily drivers
Mine is and I doubt "most" CTRs are not driven daily, or at least enough to warrant gross steering wheels. They should have stuck with leather or something. Wouldn't want the new one in a warm state and definitely don't want it in a cooler one. The Mugen one is perfect and what it should be.

When you do, seeing that you are from GB, WI, you should run it up to Ellison Bay and take a few runs up and down this road:

:spaz: Spring time comes around, I'm bringing the R up there from the Madison area.

Honda has already stated that they want all of there models electric by 2025. Look it up.
They want all their models electrified by 2025. That doesn't mean full electric.

Been there done that with an old MGB and a Z-28. Also loads of fun on Lakeshore drive a little farther south. Although that one is getting a little too populated.

I do plan on being up there this fall for pics like the one you have. One of the most photographed pieces of road i the Midwest.

:)

I bought a set of winter wheels/tires and another set of wheels/spent competition tires before I even bought the car itself.

i think that their plan is to have an "electrified" version of every model. They will still have the regular versions, though.

Thanks for the info!
Is the Alcantara one (100 usd extra) better then suede? More resilient, easy to clean, stretch less?
Did you used those stickers underneath? I wouldn't want to mess the og steering leather with that glue...
Where do they ship from so that I can better arrange shipping?

Thanks a lot!

well US debut is winter of 2020 so you have almost a year to enjoy it before trading it in for a '20
So my dealer was right. It is only available for a half-year.. if that. This is the last 10th gen peeps!

Wrong
New allocations will be here soon to dealers in 2 to 3 months and people will be buying the 2020 by May 2020. The UK swindon plant will not close until 2022.. we will see 2021 CTRs but probably a limited special final edition. Or they will just produce 2020s until closing and we wont see the next gen ctr anytime soon until the u.s. plant comes online. I dont see us having a new CTR until 2023 . Thats my theory.
