Hey folks, quick update.

I managed to get a glass / body shop to buff my windshield for free and the issue is now resolved!!!!

They did mention that they've seen that quite a few times and usually it is from Honda over spraying the car with some products at the factory level or sometimes because of sea salt during shipment. Regardless Honda should have done a better job prepping the car before giving me the keys! Lesson learned :drive:

Thanks y'all for your inputs!!! Greatly appreciated

I know you have the issue resolved but for other people that might have an issue:

I had some difficult to remove smears on my brand new car. I thought I had cleaned them off with glass cleaner but could still see them in certain light conditions, the problem was now complicated because I had applied rainx after I had thought that it was clean. Tried a few suggestions with no success, then I used Rain-X X-Treme Clean Surface Cleaner. It has solvents and abrasive grit, It will remove Rain-X and it removed whatever was on my windshield with no problem. It was cheap and easy to use, it would have been quick except I took a lot of time doing the edges making sure I didn’t get any on any rubber seals, trim or paint.

It's a loosing battle, because this windshield is not made of real glass. Real glass can be washed and cleaned, because any random grease or dirt is unable to bond to it strongly, so it can be more or less easily removed. But the surface of this newfangled windshield bonds strongly chemically to all kinds of dirt and therefore it's very hard to clean. This is the first car I own with this kind of inferior windshield surface.

When this windshield is really clean, the surface is very rough (not mechanically, at the molecular level, really). Nothing slides on it and it's very hard to wipe it with a cloth or paper, because everything sticks to it. This is not good. I use waxes (liquid) until the surface is slippery and can be easily wiped. This protects the windshield from adsorbing junk until the wax wears out and has to be applied again. Of course, not every paint wax is equally good for glass, but it seems like some of them work well.

Buffing may be effective to remove the surface layer of dirt that is hard to remove chemically. After buffing the windshield may be nice and clean for some time, but I'm sure it will get dirty again if unprotected, because of its crappy chemical nature.

This windshield needs to be redesigned with another chemically inert layer or at least coating added on top. I believe some more expensive cars have such windshields.
