I don't even know why they are even coming out with gas powered cars anymore. I love my FK8 but lets be real. This car is going to be obsolete in about 5yrs. Electric cars are the future and I'm not sure I want to spend anymore money on a platform that's is going nowhere. I have already read articles online that says the 2021 Honda civic type r might be a hybrid. I'm not sure what to think.

its funny these 2020 CTR threads have brought out out jelous CTR owners that just bought a 2019 or own a 2017-2018. I for one am upgrading my 2018 and dont mind doing it. The market value in my state for a CTR 2018 with low miles is 36-38k so I will get that easily for mine. If the price of the car is 40k I will get it and practically have the same car payment I had before.

I already have a sales manager team that will be calling me when they get the car allocated and will be getting it at MSRP.

either way there is no denying it the 2020 CTR is the best CTR made. The people complaining about the 2020 are just trying to justify their purchases which is fine , but to me it seems these threads are just turning into a therapeutic complainers thread of CTR owners who think they have the best CTR version on the planet. Get with the times because there will always be something newer and better. Now why are we talking about financial when talking about cars , if you have the money get it , dont hate people that want the newest and best CTR out there.
this is one long personal justification to buy a 2020. I’ll probably end up in a Boosted Blue for a good deal in 2021. Maybe not as time goes on. The best would be a 2019 since it’s just a 2017 with the much used volume knob. The 2020 and on are definitely a step towards a more tamed drive. Almost a Type-S instead of a Type-R...

And YOU Sir are drinking the Kool-Aid! :)

There are no known improvements at all!
Refreshed model includes multiple performance improvements, with revised aerodynamics, engine cooling, suspension, and upgraded brakes.

That's directly from the OP. I will take it at face value unless the source is known to be fake news? Seems you know something about it I don't.. what's your reason for being so suspicious?

PS. Boost blue is my favourite colour Kool aid.

I don't care much for the faux sound delivered through Honda's "sound enhancer". I am curious about the Auto Start/Stop and how much it would help with gas mileage and how quickly the engine starts back up after you remove your foot from the brake.

I have driven auto start/stop vehicles (f150) and I honestly barely noticed it was happening. Start up is instant.

As for fuel savings. Depends on how much time you typically spend idling. You'll save about a litre of fuel per hour of idle time.

I don’t buy in to the whole electric cars are the future thing. I definitely believe we need to utilize them more, as well as focus on producing power through renewable energy, but there are a lot of places in the US especially where an EV just doesn’t make sense. Urban areas they do, and most suburban areas, but once you start getting into rural towns like you’d find in the Midwest, the argument isn’t as strong.

Both Honda and Toyota are committed to producing non BEVs still. Hybridization is a good first step and one that would also allow for performance benefits.

Believe it or not this enhancement makes the car sound better and quieter inside the vehicle. This will make the car a 100 percent better road trip car. You will always be able to disable it. I am tired of hearing the rattles.. all expensive luxury cars do it even porche sports cars.

how does feeding an exhaust note through speakers make it quieter inside or reduce rattling....also...a civic isn't a good car to get if you don't like rattles imo

The new steering wheel and short shifter will knock off 5 sec at the nurburgring . Just wait. New brakes and cooling another 15 sec

You're being farrrr too modest in your estimations. I am forecasting a 6 minute improvement. We'll see!

Check out you tube university.
The reason they gave it asc was to make it a much better road car with honda sensing. Id rather drive 700 mile road trip in a 2020 vs the last
3 year models. Throw on some 18s or 19s and it would be even better. I am pretty sure honda you can disable it through the radio or unplugimg a harness behind the dash. You can do this with acura.

If I remember correctly on a bimmer 3 I drove more than 10 years ago auto stop would not activate as long as the clutch pedal is pressed. A few seconds after the gearbox is is neutral and the clutch pedal is released, auto stop kicks in. And as soon as the clutch pedal is pressed, the auto start kicks in and it starts instantly. So it feels pretty natural But I turn it off anyways. Just didn't like it.
