On top of that NONE of the help files are specific to the 10th gens except 1 generic page.

I actually had mine auto tuning the afm table and fuel tables. And it was working great. Way early on. Asked a question about it and they responded with "this software cannot autotune on this platform".... oh really!?.... well i was doing it......... no response after that.....

I keep trying to appreciate hondata but man they work my nerves with the communication.

I didn't spend 700 bucks for an afc2. I bought hondata to write my own shit and here i am playing games with shit.

I don't want the watered down bullshit (not yall, them) i want some more light shed on how these ecu's actually work.

It's not right to the consumer
there going with the concept of "if you have to ask, then you shouldn't be touching that" they dont want to give an amateur enough info to be dangerous.

I showed someone how to setup 2 step/anti lag properly. next thing i know he was running his lower limiter at 5.5k with -14 ign  recipe for some boom boom

It's not a question of knowing what to do it's more of how the software works. Lack of detailed information. Considering these cars are tuned COMPLETELY different than kpro or anything else.

Well they advertise live tuning capabilities in there own YouTube video for this platform so....

Maybe ill just turn the car back in at lease end instead of buying it and get something else

I don't think the lack of detailed information is a Hondata only thing. KTuner's help pages are a bit vague in spots too.

Agreed i read everyones help files Ive had more help from ktuner by a drastic margin on here though.

Really all that any of them would have to do is put "suggested" adjustments or at least a "proper range" of what to set things to.
"This affects this....etc"

I wish they didn't blanket treat all of us like we are morons.

We bought product.

I didn't just buy a set to forget flash file........

To be honest the hondata help files are a WEALTH of info..........

that mostly doesn't apply to the 10th gens........

I totally agree. But, I guess their logic is that "for safety sake" they prefer users don't delve too deep and rely on a pro tuner. I'm with you though. Give us some tips, tweak ideas and suggestions and let us experiment knowing that if we F something up, it's our own fault.

What's crazy about that is i completely street tuned a coworker's k20 swapped ek from scratch (and you should see what's involved to actually do that) using hondata help files with kpro.

I had never touched a Honda previously.

There are 5 different vtc angles to tune/ extrapolate... each angle has its own fuel table and timing table.... and you do that for low cam (out of vtec) AND high cam (in vtec).... think how many tables that is which ends up needing adjusted....

It was a blast! Made me fall in love with hondata.

I keep praying that someone will "leak" the secrets one day lmao.

take a look at your ethanol tables, unless you changed them, Ktuners advancement for eth is pretty conservative.

starting from the included stage 2 maps. I've gotten away with 3 degrees of advancement, up top. 4, if i'm not so boost happy and keep my peak boost at 25. tapering off to 21 at redline.

and yah I've seen what ktuner looks like with all the stuff available. definitely allot is hidden from us. but probably for a good reason haha.

sounds like you have more room to wiggle up, if K control isn't budging. heck when I started running meth i ran 7 degrees at 26PSI lol. just go slow and bring IGN up 1 at a time.

when working on my own, in the past, i'd set boost for where i wanted it. then would bring ign up till k control was going up to .52-.55. just stay away from IGN under 3500, add up top.

I have a whole lot to learn about this tuning game but am forever learning. Another important aspect to tuning your ignition timing I'd think is the transition of boost pressure from low to high. For instance, when you look at how a 27Won turbo builds boost in the midrange, you'd probably be able to get away with really aggressive ignition lower than 2500rpms. However, at 3500rpm on up it can be tricky since that is when the turbo is ramping up with boost to whatever your max psi is. With this ramping taking place, you'd want your timing be retarded quick enough so that when that higher boost is in the cylinder, the timing would already be lower to help you avoid knock. That's my thinking around this. I have no experience with it either way.

As a small contribution, I have been running +3ign from 4.5k and on, on a base 1.5T (non-Si) with max boost of 24psi @ 5k rpm , fading to 19.5 at redline and keeping a flat MAF.v curve at 4.65-4.7v from ~5k rpm to redline at 6800 without any issues (or K.Control jumping around) even during summer time.

To the people: post what max timing advance you are seeing at wide open throttle
I am seeing between +5 to +5.5, with 23psi of boost max for a VERY short period time.
The +5 of ign timing doesn't hit until about 55mph or so, in '2nd gear' (CVT). It tapers off by 2 degrees in the remaining 'gears'. This was with IAT about 70F (Post Intercooler).

I should've answered this, this simple before. Was snooping around moments ago looking for where people are at with ignition timing on their setups.
