Reboot is always the first thing to try. But cleaning the screen, inspecting mechanical buttons (steering wheel) for spilled coffee/soda, and adjusting the screen's sensitivity sometimes can be helpful. My money is on the software, though. Hope ya' get it sorted out.
I had the same problem on mine. Resetting it worked temporarily, but I ended up taking it to the dealer. My SA is very up to date with Civic issues and scheduled me for a software update at no charge. Haven't had the issue since.
Edit: Just checked the documentation and it says they performed SB 17-048 and SB 17-049
yep my 16 Touring doing same thing all of a sudden. It did this early on and they did software updates to fix it but now its 3 1/2 years old and started doing it again.. how new are those SB's ?
