Been running these bulbs for a while but I hate that even though they're 3000k, they don't look very yellow when you look at the car. The temp looks like a halogen bulb when you're facing the car but the light that hits the ground is actually yellow. They're pretty bright but I'm looking for a decent alternative. Running 50w ballasts.

Thats why your color looks off. When you run a 50w ballast it changes your bulbs color temperature. If you want a true 3000K color run a 35W ballast with a 3000K bulb or the 50W ballast with a 43000K bulb. This is explained in this video

Just watched the video and he says with the higher power ballast, the color of the bulbs goes down and brightness goes up. My lights are bright as hell but the color looks higher than 3000k.

Edit: as you can see at the 5:59 mark in the video, the color is darker with the higher power ballast. I seem to be having the opposite complaint. My bulbs look whiter than I'd like.

Got a pic of what the color looks like?

Actually found that video... interesting. He mentions that the color gets washed out with higher wattage ballasts, which is what I expected, but then mentions a color shift, kinda implying the color shifts toward the lower kelvin scale when you up the wattage. The pics he showed kinda displayed that, which is what I found weird. Washed out is what I've experienced in practice, though I've never really deviated from the 4500-6000K range, using both 35W and 55W ballasts. This graphic is what I've been going off of over the last.. decade.. and would more explain why your 50W 3000K's look more white as opposed to the video where it really became more of a rich golden color.
