$30 for a redesigned short shifter doesnā€™t sound correct.

The only extra weight would be the sensing stuff, which was already in some markets in 17-19 and probably doesn't weigh enough to make a meaningful difference.
and the car will likely be shedding a few pounds with the 2 piece rotors. At least I'd imagine that's why honda switched to them. In the end, the weight gain might only be a few pounds.

They reduced the size of the upper vent and marginally increased the size of the larger vent on the grill. Expect the same result as the eBay grills. Next to nothing.
It looks like maybe a 10% increase in opening size... which translates to 3 seconds of extra driving on the track, until limp mode. Knowing Honda OEM parts pricing, I'm not sure the performance aspect is worth the cost. If it's simply for looks, that's another thing though.

Maybe it's just me, but the 2020 CTR doesn't sound nearly as great as some were holding out for. If anything, I'd say it's a step backwards in many aspects. Fake engine sound, driving nannies, alcantara wheel, softer suspension...

I'm now even wondering if the front rotors will be any lighter. We went from cross drilled to solid rotors now. While two piece rotors generally tend to be lighter, that weight savings might be lost with the solid disc rotor. If that is the case, what's the point of the two piece design? Is it better rotor steel? Can't they make one piece rotors from better steel?

I will start compiling a list of US, JDM and Euro part numbers. As you know I am in the UK but I also have an excellent contact at a dealer in the USA. I will be in FL in 5 weeks time so might find out more in person....

I agree, but I am interested in the short shifter the most.

Guarantee anything from acuity blows it out of the water.
I have no desire to pay $450 for a short shifter. Iā€™m sure the 2020 OEM version will be cheaper.

I don't think we can judge yet. It's unlikely we know the whole story. They said they would share more details closer to when the car goes on sale. We don't know if they changed other things, such as better radiator ducting, better fans, different radiator, and so on. So far we only know about the externally visible stuff.

Lmao. They said nothing to that effect....

I donā€™t know what it is but this forum has an issue with people making shit up and saying ā€œHonda saidā€.

The official press release literally says updated grill yet thereā€™s these comments that the intercooler might be larger or piping has changed. Maybe my mind is fucked but how does an updated grill turn to pipe dreams of powertrain upgrades?

Its as if people are dreaming so hard they lie in order to project something thatā€™s untrue.

Really sad.

Exactly! Imagine how many more they would sell if they were priced at $250 or less.

They may update the pad and rotor to avoid the dreadful sounds on the current brake which sounds like a truck and squeaking when it stop at slow speed if they are not warm up enough

Let me explain my comment on reserving judgement. I certainly didnā€™t say anything about intercooler piping but I assume you are talking about someone else. First of all, they said in their press release:

Additional information about the U.S.-spec 2020 Civic Type R will be available closer to its on-sale date later this year.
and I take from that there are additional details that we donā€™t know. I also listened to their entire press conference and although itā€™s pretty typical marketing speak, the fact that they stated up on stage ā€œimproved engine coolingā€ as a headline feature makes me hope that the engineers were actually allowed to make a real improvement and not just enlarge the grille. Iā€™m also basing this on my past observation with how Honda is willing to do real engineering changes during mid-cycle updates.

Anyway, I am just saying we should reserve final judgement until we get someone doing the inevitable youtube tear down.
