Is the radio (am/fm) in the head unit itself, I know it controls it, but I've been told the actual tuner is somewhere else in the car.
Asking cause my radio reception sucks, it's unlistenable on the clearest of days at times. I'm talking about stations I've always picked up in every car I've ever owned. If any of you are in the Philly PA area, I live only a half hour away and can't get 93.3, 102.9, 95.7 or anything really.
Got a new headunit for this and other issues a while back, but it's not changed at all.
And HD? Well , that's non existent on all but one station that is about a half hour from my house.
Very weak and horrible reception on this thing.

I'm supposed to be getting 3 months of that free due to a lawsuit with Sirius.
But I'm not paying for something I can get for free, most everything on the xm stations, I already have on my USB drive. But once in a while, I'd like to just listen to a radio station, and it's about impossible.
Since you mentioned metal, I'm into old Ozzy, iron maiden, Dio, dokken, WASP, Savtage(from Florida I believe) queensryche, Alice Cooper, King Diamond, Judas Priest, and a whole bunch of other stuff along those lines.
Of course, some people would argue that is classic rock at this point and say stuff like Slipknot is metal, which I don't like that type of stuff at all.

Yes, the tuner unit is back kind of behind the right rear passenger's shoulder. Or their right kidney, maybe. See attached photo.

Honda Civic 10th gen Ok, which is it with the radio??? tuner

I've never listened to the radio in mine, so I don't know if your problem is typical or not.

Maybe go to a dealership and find a station that comes in poorly once you're parked there, then go ask them to let you try listening to that station in one of their cars to see if it's any better. To see if your car is worse than normal, that is.

Thanks, at least now I can tell the dealer that replacing the headunit has nothing to do with the radio reception.

Sounds like a pain, no pun intended. How many issues have you found with your replacement Civic? Seems like you've had a lot of trouble with it.

I bought a Sirus/XM dock/cradle for each of my cars ('16 civic, '12 civic and '11 F150), I have one subscription and move the radio module from vehicle to vehicle as required because I can only drive one at a time.
All but the '16 civic have a line-in or aux in, my '16 Civic EX-t doesn't have any way to get an external signal in. I can't Bluetooth because I use carplay, and there is no OEM sat radio for this model - so I use the FM modulator. It is terrible, there is static and other noises, reception comes and goes.

if there's an fm reception improvement, I'm all ears

No, actually if you read my other posts, they have all been head unit related so that would make one . Oh, and the glass which seems to be a common issue with a lot of people. I also posted that I haven't had anywhere near the problems I had with the lemon.

Who replaced the headunit? Was the antennae plugged in correctly? I ask because I once replaced my headunit in another car but didn't get a good connection on the antennae at first and it sounded like garbage until I pulled it back out and shoved the plug in better and twisted it a bit.

However, if the civic antennae is just a snap in plug in the back then IDK.

It was done by a Honda dealer.

Well if it's similar to the quality of the current gen Honda pilot, I will say whenever we tune into the local sports station for football games the reception is not that great and we usually need to turn it up to hear well. Otherwise we rarely use the am/fm radio.

I hate xm radio. Most fm stations here dont play the music i want. I use a couple usb drives that i transferred from my computer. I also just Bluetooth my phone and listen to what i have on there or just use free spotify or similar, and listen to what genre i want.
