Of course some wives won't like a sporty car like the Si. For obvious reasons. They're are usually the first things to go..lol The CRV/HRV is a butt lookin nerd ride though. Good for picking up groceries and being a utility vehicle. I'd take the Si, Sport hatch or an EX/EX-T sedan any day over a CRV/HRV :D The EX-T sedan with leather is actually a really nice and smooth Civic. To each their own though

I'm not going to lie, I'm not truly happy with my '19 2Dr SI. I should have really purchased the sedan. If I make the crazy move to trade it in, I'm most likely going with an Accord.

Sorry to hear that. To each their own. I'm actually considering trading in my 19 coupe for a 2020/21 Si coupe. Absolutely love these cars. Sedan is a little more practical for those who drive with more people. 9 times out of 10 nobody is sitting in my back seat though.

whats the technology difference in the HRV vs the SI besides hondasensing if you dont mind me asking? seems like that is the only upgrade in technology you made by making the switch. anyway happy wife happy life!
I am putting in the wrong word -- technology is actually what I was trying to say. Everyday comforts and usability would more accurately pain the picture.

YUP ! The coupe was a PITA with parking spaces. By the time you open the heavy door it dawns on you that you only have about 6 inches of space to crawl through while all hunched over. That being said, sure wish the Civic Si motor came in the HR-V :)

I don't understand why people continue to post when they don't own the car. I drove a 98 chevy cavalier. Never posted to the website. Say what you want, I understand If you just sold it. But after a week, no one gives a shit
We are all car enthusiasts here, people still continue to contribute, and many people built up friendships that continue, even after they sold. He wanted to say goodbye. But you know you don't have to really read these posts

But some of us do care and read these threads. For some people, there's nothing else to do sitting alone inside a nuclear reactor control room in the middle of nowhere. :dunno:
Haha I almost LOL at my desk after reading this. I always tell my team to not go on youtube, facebook and forums during work hours, and yet here I am.....

99.9 percent of the time it's the wives that make us do stuff or stop us from doing stuff. And they say the male is the stronger sex...sigh

If you look thru some of the OP's past posts, part of it was the manual trans. He realized MT was not for him. Also the HRV is much more refined on the road, meaning it was designed to isolate you from the road whereas the Si was designed to feel the road. When you hit a bump in the HRV, you don't feel it and in the Si you do because of stiffer suspension. Also gearing is taller in the HRV so engine is quieter at highway speeds. It's sort of like the Acura TLX, it is basically a refined 9th Gen Si

If I had to do it over, I would’ve done what I did. I have zero regrets and I’m always super excited to drive my Si daily (I’m turning 27 soon though, big difference, lol).
I just wish I could install remote start, but I don’t want to deal with the complications and potential consequences. So, I’ll live with that minor inconvenience.

If my priorities haven’t changed in 2-2.5 years once I graduate college again, I’ll likely keep my Si, pay it off completely, and just ride the crap out of it.

Good luck with your HR-V. Too bad you took a decent financial hit, but if you’re not happy you’re not happy right? Enjoy your new car :)

My wife and I are mid 30s, I have the Si and she has a CR-V. I would rather be a passenger in the CR-V and would rather drive the Si, and I think she feels the same way. I'm probably going to trade the Si in next year for something that's still fun but ups the comfort/convenience a little bit. Need to test drive a GTI as I've heard it's a more compliant ride but still fun. The passenger seat in the Si is really pretty bad, I wish you could raise/lower it.

The 2.0 MT LX is a fun toy too. It's the wife's preferred ride. She actually likes the Acuity shifter bushing upgrade. She didn't want an Si because of the rec for premium gas which is always over $3/gallon around here.

Here is a list of cars I would look at:

Used 2013 thru 2016 Accord V6 with 6 speed Manual- A very hard car to find (most owners don't want to give up theirs), but amazing if you can get your hands on one. If you can't find MT, than Auto is fine as well

2017 or 2018 Accord 2.0T MT or Auto- Not as good as the 3.5L V6, but still a great car. The reason I gave you these years is because I hate the 2019 redesign. I don't like that Fastback look

Both of these cars are comfortable, quiet, passenger (wife in this case) and road trip friendly. You'll lose the LSD and better handling the Si offers, but you will get the more comfortable and quiet ride. The Accord Sport V6 will take you to heaven when you mash down on it, so that would be my preference
