I am currently using an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 9.3.2 and have it connected via Bluetooth to my 2016 Honda Civic Touring sedan.

In the Bluetooth settings on my phone, I have all items enabled including show notifications, sync contacts, phone favorites, phone recents, and all contacts.

I have been noticing that when I receive phone calls, that only the phone number is displayed, and not the contacts name on the screen in the vehicle. However, if I receive a text message, I do see the contacts name. If I use Siri hands free to place a call, the name and phone number are displayed on the screen as well.

I didn't find any settings in the infotainment system for this, unless I missed something.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Being able to see the incoming caller's name, and not phone number only, would be a big help to myself.

Thanks!

This is an issue with many Honda vehicles, because the system differentiates between numbers with/without country codes.

If your home phone number is registered in your phone as xxx-yyy-zzzz, try changing that to 1-xxx-yyy-zzzz, and call again from your home.

Thanks for the information. Some of the numbers tested from in my phone are set at (555) 555-5555 and others are 1 (555) 555-5555. With either format though, they still only show up as numbers only when receiving incoming calls. I'll continue to test and play around some more though.

Were you able to fix? Sorry guys, I know this thread is super old, but I just bought a 2019 Civic and searched everywhere for answers, and found this forum :)

Yes, I tried playing with the country code format and no luck.

also, does the civic not announce an incoming text message verbally vs having the notification sitting on the infotainment, hoping to catch our eye by chance? Yes, I get the notification, but thought perhaps the car can also verbally announce it too? (I’ve witnessed this for other cars like Nissan Rogue and Fiat 500)
