Traded in my 2019 civic Si coupe with 5300 miles on it yesterday. We are a older couple, 68 and 65 and thought we would enjoy the Si more than we did. We soon discovered that what we missed we wanted back --- automatic or CVT transmission - a quiet ride, softer ride, 4 doors, bigger storage area, AWD, sitting a bit higher- more up to date technology (which the 2019 Si lacked -- IMO). FYI we received $21,000.00 for trade-in. I enjoyed the Si for what it is and was more of a toy for us than transportation but after almost a year of ownership we felt it best to change directions. We already had a 2018 CR-V and now enjoy an added HR-V -- a style and functional preference for us. To all you Civic Si owners -- enjoy and have fun --------later

Honda CVT mated with a turbo is a winning strategy and that’s why more than a million already sold. The HRV (based on the Fit) is definitely a step up in terms of storage and practicality. Happy driving!

Wow. that's so similar to us. We're 66 and 70. And we've got a '15 CRV and recently the 2020 Si coupe.
I'm still stoked with the Si, and we took it on a trip to enjoy the new car. But I can tell already that for longer trips my wife's going to want to travel in the CRV. Yeah, higher seating, smoother ride, quieter cabin, easy entry, is nice sometimes. But I still have a fast car left in me.
And I've got no problem CVT's like a lot of people do for a car like the CRV. As long as the CVT is reliable. That's my only concern. I like them better than conventional automatics.

Your expose' on "I am filled with regret" was very Shakespearean. I never laughed so hard ( all good nature fun / no malice) When you said ... I went to the exhaust shop and was feeling "spicy" or what ever ... It was just a good story! Sorry to see you leave ... I get it ... I love the muffler delete and the rawness ... but you gave me some pause ... "will it be too loud"? " will the drone be unbearable"? "Will I get arrested"? I think you did well with the price ... I have 3400 miles on my 2019 manufactured in Jan 2018.

We’re 37 and 38, but my wife also prefers her CRV with CVT. LOL.

My wife hates my 6MT Civic and loves her '16 Pilot. She refuses to drive it and hates when she has to be a passenger in my car. Oh well, works for me, at least I don't have to worry her messing up my car lol

btw, we're 34 and 30 respectively

My wife too absolutely hated riding in the Civic Si. Now, all smiles that I got rid of it.

Sorry to see you go but at least you got to experience what it is like to own an Si. Mine's also a toy car but I'd have no problem daily driving it.

Congrats on the new car, for everyone driving should be a joy, not a task. The Si is for a younger crowd, those young at heart, and MT enthusiasts. When I bought it, I really wanted to go back to a manual, but it took me a year to realize that daily driving a manual transmission in traffic was taking a toll. Plus I do a lot of long distance driving between Northern Cal and Southern Cal and needed something more comfortable and will shift itself. And I wanted to get back into a V6!

Good luck!

Haha my wife didn't like driving in my Si either. She drives a Toyota Sienna, and did not like the smaller size, stiffer suspension, the louder engine noise, and the feeling when I shifted. She really hated when boost kicked in, she said it made her feel sick. Oh well, you can't win them all...

I don't understand why people continue to post when they don't own the car. I drove a 98 chevy cavalier. Never posted to the website. Say what you want, I understand If you just sold it. But after a week, no one gives a shit
But some of us do care and read these threads. For some people, there's nothing else to do sitting alone inside a nuclear reactor control room in the middle of nowhere. :dunno:

whats the technology difference in the HRV vs the SI besides hondasensing if you dont mind me asking? seems like that is the only upgrade in technology you made by making the switch. anyway happy wife happy life!
