The new 2.0 is an I-Vtec. And with the ktuner you can lower the Vtec engagement. My old 2008 Honda Fit has the fuel efficient Vtec version 1.5 engine. It would only open one intake valve during normal operation to save fuel. Then it would open the second valve during Vtec engagement. So it didn’t have lift control. Lift control is where it makes more power on the top end, which is found in the new 2.0. It’s just missing lift control on the exhaust side like the old 2.0 had, which is how it had such a high useable rpm range. The 2009 K20 was an i-VTEC "High Performance" engine tuned for power. The new one is a different engine tuned for maximum economy, and no i-VTEC. IRL, the 1.5T in regular, non-Si tune, approaches that 197hp, with more torque than the old 2.0Si engine, in the case of the 6MT Sport / Sport Touring Hatch. (Close to 200hp/200lb.ft torque). A regular 10G Civic Turbo is faster than a 9G Si (Stock vs Stock).
