Way to hush hush its building so much anticipation
I know right! The only things I've heard are along the lines of them not wanting to make any radical changes because of the huge success of the 10th gen.

Anyone else waiting in anticipation for the threads that start popping up about how people waited so patiently for the final model year, only to be SHOCKED it costs way more due to dealer markups?

And now they won't be buying one...

Let's be honest... They were never buying one regardless

now now, the mark ups are really starting to come down i rarely here anything over 4K now and used ones can be had for much lower now as well, I think it was just a lot of hype once that yellow sits on the showroom floor, for 4 months due to the markup and lack of people wanting a yellow color i think the markup will finally end remember it costs the dealership more money to keep a car on the lot then to just short sell it depending on a few factors

Sure in 25 years and not nearly as much as DC2 Type R.

It’s comforting to see all the saavy financial thoughts on this forum. LMAO.
I can't say that the moderate depreciation compared to competing cars (Golf R, FoRS, etc) wasn't part of the reason that I bought mine, but anyone under the impression that these will appreciate any time soon is nuts. They made way too many.

I do think the depreciation is pretty low on CTRs though. Figure 10-12k miles per year, a 3 year old 2017 with 30-36k miles is still high 20s to low 30s depending on condition and market. That's ~80% residual value. Most cars are somewhere in the 50-60% range, so it's not too shabby.

Will be interesting to see what happens to resale if no 2020 is produced.

You haven't heard!!! 2021 is going to get AWD, wing options, more fake vents, an automatic option, and 50 more hrsprs. lol But only 150 will be made and they will only be available in Phoenix Yellow, or the original Championship white.

I know I am being an @$$, lol
You forgot to mention the 2021 ctr will get more fake cf:rofl:

I can definitely see this car going up in value one day. Just not anytime soon like someone else said due to how many were manufactured. My guess is there won't be a next gen for the Type R. Not for a very long time at least.

Legend has it that if you travel out and down a quiet curvy road late at night with your current MY CTR and let loose upon the corners somewhere between the revs and turbo noises lies a frequency of VTEC magic that will allow the driver to witness the future of the CTR, also less important things like the meaning of life and how peanut butter cups are really made...
Here you go, one less thing to worry about.

Now go find out what the future of the CTR is!

In 20-30 years when all new cars will be just appliances, muted, docile, highly automated I guess that these kind of analog cars, loud will be quite desirable among enthusiasts. Such cars in decent shape will be rare by then.

Example: years ago I was looking for a Skyline R33/R34. Almost all have been messed up with gazillions of hp, tunes... The risk was too high for me as buyer. Jdm imports were pristine apparently but it's hard to believe. Also their low mileage was strange.

I just would like an option for 18" or 19" rims with a bit more sidewall to mitigate the off the line wheel hop and traction issues. I recall simply adding an additional .5" of sidewall to my 2010 Mazdapeed3, which made around 340wtq, improved traction massively. Also would help make tire buying less pricey.

Phoenix Yellow? :puke:

Honestly, the speculation here is asinine.

Just wait til Honda makes a statement, then we can complain, laugh, or drool without this garbage doubt.

No source cited. So where did 700 number come from?
Source for what? The 700 that @H3llsp4wn707 quoted in post #7 or the fact that each vehicle listed on each of the listing services in unique?

CarGurus.com, for example, currently lists 663 new Civic Type R's. If you click on each one, you'll see a unique VIN. If CarGurus.com listed vehicles offered for sale on competing listing services, you'd see duplicates.
