i agree, don’t push down on the hood.When I was at the dealership, I was told that gently putting the hood down then pushing down could actually bend the hood and recommended against it. The recommended way to close would be to hold it a foot-ish above the latch and drop it.
Edit: Note this was when I was playing with the hood on an Si. I'm not sure if the Si hood is aluminum or not, but if it's not, then the Type R would be even more prone to damage, if the statement was true, than the Si would be due to aluminum being a softer metal.
pretty sure the Si hood is not aluminum. When I was at the dealership I “shoulder pressed” the open hood of a Si and. CTR and the CTR was noticeably lighter.
Me too: Step 1: drop from about a foot, should close Step 2: if hood doesn’t latch, repeat step 1.
Silly reminder but make sure to clear away anything under the hood that shouldn’t be there, such as tools, etc. Might make an interesting hood bulge and be mistaken for a second turbo! Hahahha! Just kidding....
