Sure in 25 years and not nearly as much as DC2 Type R.

It’s comforting to see all the saavy financial thoughts on this forum. LMAO.
I meant keeping a high resale value. Doesn't make sense worrying about unless in pristine shape. Meaning not moded, hooned...

There are 700 2019 CTRs for sale in the US....yikes!
There's probably more than that since not all dealers submit their inventory data to sites like Cargurus.com.

Mazda still hasn't announced the 2020 MX-5 Miata, either. The best information suggests that they're waiting for the remaining 2019's to sell down and for 2020's to actually deliver to dealers from Japan. I'd guess the Civic Type R is following a similar strategy - it's the only 2020 model that Honda hasn't announced yet.

to my knowledge according to a corporate email, only 450 dealerships will get one and they are only going to the top civic sales dealerships and there is no way to know which are which. houston is getting 4-5 according to the email and thats if it does end up happening honda has pulled the plug on stuff before.

Well dealerships in Houston sit all day on 5k over a base Type R. I can only imagine what happens when that thing lands in their showroom. 80k dealer ADM for a yellow Civic!

So if I'm selling my type r and I list it on Cargurus, Carvana, cars.com etc. does that count as three type r's or one?

It's really hard to believe the 10th gen is coming to an end, but I think some people are ahead of themselves. Wouldn't the 11th gen be at least a 2022 MY? Also Honda might phase the Si and Type R in later like they did in 2017.

My 2021 will be gen 11 for sedan and coupe, The Hatchback, Si and Type R will be 2022 for gen 11

You haven't heard!!! 2021 is going to get AWD, wing options, more fake vents, an automatic option, and 50 more hrsprs. lol But only 150 will be made and they will only be available in Phoenix Yellow, or the original Championship white.

I know I am being an @$$, lol

Honestly I don't think there will be a Gen 11 Type R - with the way the auto industry is going Honda may opt to wait until Gen 12 to revamp the Type R, and even then who knows if they will continue to share it with the rest of the world....

If you have one enjoy it, if you don't then find one - deals can be had. Don't worry so much about what the next MY is like or when it's coming - truth is not much will have changed from the current or previous MY's anyway.

Interesting... Nonetheless, there should be some kind of info on the 2020 type R and not too much longer before we see stuff about the 11th gens. My family members involved in this stuff at Honda have been hush hush.

Yep and it's the exact same car as the $36k 2019 civic sitting right beside it.

That old saying always comes to mind...

A fool and his money are soon parted.

You can't tell somehow how to be financially responsible... But I sure hope that bright yellow makes the even bigger hole in their wallet justifiable. I bet that most who do splurge on a yellow CTR will be trading in within 1-2 years due to the high monthly cost and likely very little wheel time.

Suckers! :p
