yep got one with my 19
I don't recall getting one with my 19. I think I had to buy one from Monoprice.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see no such order in my account. Maybe it did come with it after all.

This thread has been super helpful! Quick question: does the 2020 Civic Si come with rear LEDs in the tail lights, turn signals and backup lights?

The headlights, park lamps (including front signals) and rear lightbar are LED. The brake lights, rear signals and reverse lights are not.

Good write up. This is the way all new cars are heading. Like it or not. Honda didn't just add these new feature out of the blue... It comes from user demand. All of Honda's competition are doing it. I personally am not a fan of a lot of the new tech, give me good ol fashion buttons and knobs!

On another note, I was at my mechanics yesterday getting my oil changed, and this was parked in front of his shop.

I don't know the year, but it has over 200k on it, needs a trans rebuild, and possibly an engine rebuild. Paint is shot, but body is good. Doesn't have any tech, not even ABS. Owner is asking $15k. If I can talk him down, might pick it up as a project car

Do not pay more than 10k for an S2000 with over 200k miles on it. That thing needs a lot of work... probably feels like it’s gonna fall apart when you rev it out. They feel like that when they're in good shape. Cant imagine how bad the NVH is in that thing with a engine and trans that needs replaced too.

watch this vid, you’ll like it.

On the topic of the new leds.... Every single night i take my car out people are flashing their brights at me, assuming i have my brights on i guess? I have to keep my finger on the turn stalk so i can flash them back immediately with my actual brights.

They are bright as hell and i love them. But oncoming traffic does not.
Did you turn off the auto highbeams ? Because it flashes people all the time. I turned it off right away.

Why did you buy an Si if this is how you plan to drive? :dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno::dunno: I babied my first 5000km and managed to get around 6.0L/KM by not exceeding 4k rpm and really grannying the shit outta the car. It was painful and not fun what-so-ever. Not to mention if you're driving in the outskirts of the GTA people are accelerating to 60/70 very fast. There's no way you'll be keeping up with accelerating traffic and once you're at speed you won't have enough power to make quick reactions. 5/6th gear feel so sluggish at 60km/h they are "highway" gears. The car behaves completely differently once you drive it a bit more adventurously and IMO is why I chose the Si vs a base model. If you want to save gas, you should have bought a Prius.

Agree 5th and 6th are def highway. Im mostly in 1st through 4th in and around town. I rarely get to 5th in town

The car was brand new. That fuel mileage was specifically to see what kind of mileage I could get out of it. Besides which, there is little point to beating the piss of out it back and forth to work. To further answer your questions, I don't use 6th gear @ 60kph and 5th gear works just fine at 60kph cruising speed.

If I need to accelerate quicker, that's what downshifting is for. Ironically, that's what an automatic would be doing. Even more ironic, I drive professionally for a living. If you need to beat on your car in lower gears to navigate regular traffic, you don't know how to drive properly.

Congrats on your profession . while you may have experience on the road that doesn't automatically make you experienced with every vehicle. getting 5.4 fuel efficiency on a full tank is extremely hard in Toronto. I drive across it daily so that makes me a profession driver too hur hur :lol::lol:. I don't beat my cars to death. In fact I try to find the best ways to make the most of it and watch the meters to see where I am expending the most gas. The only way to reach 5.4 (or even 4.9 once on a 50km trip) is by doing as much coasting as possible on the highway. It is actually more fuel efficient in mild traffic than if there is no traffic. Doing a constant 100km/h will still net you around 6.0 on that trip while reaching 80km then coasting with the flow of traffic will net you really low scores.. KINDA LIKE HOW SEMI'S DRIVE. If you're getting 5.4 with mixed city and highway driving, there's no way your'e downshifting to gain some momentum. Your'e just staying in gear and ignoring what's happening around you for the sake of not exerting any extra energy on your engine and braking less. I do that daily on the highway because it is more fuel efficient and less wear on my transmission and brakes. That would be my score on the highway only. But mixed with city driving, especially Toronto city driving, you're going to need to have a bit more zing and there's no way you're pulling less than 7.0 in town without pissing everyone on the road off.

If you look at fuel metering while cruising at 60 kph in 4th gear and look at it again in 5th, you'll see 5th is more efficient. If it was the wrong gear, it would be using more fuel than 4th. If it were a 6-speed automatic, it wouldn't stay in 4th at 60 kph under regular cruising conditions either. ;)

It's worth noting that all electronic automatic transmissions will use the highest possible gear it can without using more fuel, given the throttle position and load. By that theory, using 5th at 60 that is using less fuel than 4th at the same speed is proper. If you're in the city and driving in traffic with a speed limit of 60 kph and feel you need 4th to accelerate over the speed limit faster than you can in 5th, that's your prerogative. It's just not necessary.

That 5.4 was mixed highway and city and it's also driving 110 on the highway. It also includes driving on work property to park, which is 1st and 2nd gear and uses so much fuel, even briefly. If I'm driving in downtown Toronto, I would be in 4th, but then again, the speed limit is 50-60, which is a 4th gear speed anyway. As for downshifting for momentum, under regular driving conditions, there is no need unless speed is slowed too much. If the gear I'm in is going to lag and not accelerate, clearly I will downshift. If I'm driving 110 on the highway and traffic slows to 80, why would I downshift? There is more than enough torque to pick it back up to 110. Even if I did downshift to accelerate faster, I would end up accelerating faster than the traffic in front of me and have to let of the throttle again or brake. LOL. It doesn't make any sense. ;)

my city speeds are mostly 35 to 50, that is the reason I hardly ever get into 5 or 6 around town

That makes sense. If it's only 50, that's 4th gear at the most.
