Reliability, fuel efficiency, and price were the biggest factors for me.

NEEDED TO GET RID OF THAT %$#@! RUSTY 2012 MAZDA5! And return to Honda. Never been happier! Red Sonja is just a Darling! And Marilyn (2008 Accord EX-L Coupe) is gonna celebrate it 12th anniversary in a few weeks, and she's still purring as a happy kitten after 230 000km.

Because I like how it looks, I enyoed the CVT during test driving and also Civics are pretty rare where I live, I really enjoy to drive a very unique car.

Styling, price, reliability + performance. The last one especially since high powered daily drivable cars in Norway are much, much rarer than you think. We have plenty of Audis, Merceders and BMWs, but 90% of those are with the lowest end diesel engines.

Price, fuel economy, size inside and out, ease of maintenance, depth of knowledge online if something gets wonky; hoping for the same reliability I had with my '03 Civic.

Just curious what everyone’s motivations were. Mine was: great mpg, it looks classy, reliability.
B/c I had been driving minivans and SUV's for far too long. Being married with children were to blame... Anyway, it was love at first sight when it came to 10th gens in 2016/17. The only generation that's ever happened for me. I finally pulled the trigger in 2019 when I found a rebuilt '18 Sport Hatch (CVT 4 wife/paddles for me) for half the price of a new one. The mechanicals all checked out, and it's been the best car I've ever owned. I look forward to driving it everyday.

My family is a Honda based one for start. First car was a 06 civic lx, loved it, nice and cheap, my mom at the time helped me split the difference out the door back in college. Then I swapped and got a '10 Altima CVT. And man...after that I had to leave the Nissan family. The CVT went bad, would only cap at 60 mph during a trip down to Myrtle Beach with my friends the entire way. Only way to get it back to normal, was too turn it off and let it rest for some reason. A repair shop, think it was AAMCO quoted me 4k to fix it, I said NOPE, no point when I only had 6k left on the car. So I swapped that thing in quick back to dealer and went back to Honda. Plus Nissan interiors are kinda...lackluster and all the orange lighting in the dash and elsewhere bugs me. Honda's have never let me down (YET), and the new civic's sedans just keep getting sexier, especially the refresh. They actually listen to criticism most of the time. And with the new sport trim for the sedan, it fixed everything I somewhat disliked bout the 10th gen revamps.

Because it drives and looks better than its competitor, plus i wanted a japanese car. I considered to buy a BMW 1er too, but it was less powered and way more expensive.

Dating myself...drove an '87 CRX Si in high school and college. Not exactly a horsepower monster but that car was PLANTED to the road. That's when I fell in love with Honda. After that finally kicked the bucket I drove an assortment of vehicles due to financial and availability reasons over the years. When the Type R was introduced I knew I had to have one.

I bought a new 86 Civic Si hatch; you’re not alone. All of my successive cars have been Civic Si hatches, except for the last. From your R to my Sport, they’re all great cars.

Wife wanted a nice looking reliable and fuel efficient vehicle. I told her either we get a 2017+ Toyota Corolla SE or 2016+ Honda Civic, she loved the exterior and interior of the Civic way more than the Corolla. The 1.5 four banger turbo also gets an EPA 42 over the Corolla’s 36 hwy so that was a no brainer as well. It’s also a given that Honda sedans are much more fun to drive than Toyota sedans.

Reliability and honestly you get so much car for the money. Replaced my mom's 2000 sedan with 2016 Sedan and can't be happier with the choice

and we love Hondas :) Once my wife's Rogue lease is up we will be getting her CRV

Kinda into Honda's. This is now my 4th Civic and 2nd Si. My other vehicle is a Honda Ridgeline.

I wanted a fun car to drive that still made sense as a "family" car.
