Horses convert biomass to carbon dioxide and methane which they exhaust and fart out. And they can't be turned off. They have a substantial carbon hoofprint.
Well, the horses will always be there regardless. I'm no tree hugger (although I do play one on TV), but now we have horses PLUS automobiles. If you really want to see some egregious fouling of the atmosphere, I suggest going to many places in Asia and see what the vehicles over there are belching out.

On the start/stop topic though, my daughter drives a 2019 Jetta, which is equipped with this wonderful technology :rolleyes1:. The first order of business when driving this car is to hit the off button immediately after starting it. Unfortunately it defaults to on at each start.

And yes, Scotty has the carnival barker act down pat.

Actually, there are almost no horses today. There are only very small numbers of horses kept for fun, sport and entertainment in developed and even half-developed countries. That's compared to the number of horses that would be needed if they were used only for people moving and nothing else.

Imagine these places in Asia if they were using horses instead of cars and other motorized contraptions to move around...... New York or Beijing would be covered in horseshit to your knees....:spaz: And the size of smelly suburban stables to power trains, subways and buses would be breathtaking....:puke:Actually, the inconvenient truth is that thanks to the ICE we can still move around and breathe at the same time...:D

My Euro spec 2018 Civic Sedan 1.5T has it from factory .I never use it ,it's the first thing i put off when i start the car.
The Euro Spec sedan's are made in Turkey ,the others in the uk.The uk plant is closing in 2021 and the Turkey plant will stop making the Sedans also according to Honda.
It's time they start making them all back in Japan like they used to be with better quality.

Yep, almost no horses.

Horses in America
The United States has, by far, the most horses in the world — approximately 9.5 million, according to the 2006 Global Horse Population report from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. It shows 58,372,106 horses in the world. In 1914 the horse population was about 25 million.

And something a bit more recent:

My uncle's piece of crap Pacifica has this in it. It has a separate battery for some reason and it died after only having it for two years.
It's also very annoying, you can actually feel it starting and stoping by at every light, every stop sign etc.

Yeah, that's almost no horses, compared to what would be needed to use horses for just moving people.

There is 7.6 Billion people on this planet and 1.4 Billion cars. If there are indeed 60 million horses, there is 127 people per horse and 5.4 people per car. And the 1.4 Billion cars does not even include scooters and motorcycle-based vehicles, very popular in Asia and other places. To even partly replace motorized vehicles by horses, you would need to employ literally 100's of times more horses than exist today, even counting all the wild horses.

At least horses don’t have an auto stop/start... not yet at least
What's worse, you can't even turn them off when they are idling in the garage all night.

This whole post is useless.

A) No Civics have this functionality.
B) This functionality sucks and does more harm than good.

In winter, while idling, the civic 1.5T does not even burn enough gas to keep the engine warm.... And the coolant temperature is dropping when sitting on lights. You can't save something off of nothing. People doing short commutes struggle trying to reach the operating temperature. The battery is not charging, but is being drained to start the car. The battery size has been reduced... guess why? to reduce weight and increase fuel economy. Now, to save more gas, the start-stop system needs an additional battery and a heavier starter motor and bearings....

I came across this picture one day while scrolling through review pictures, and because I am a tech at Honda, I was puzzled I never saw this in any civic that I serviced or even on my own (I live in the states and this pic was from a Europe civic.) and thought to myself if the USA is so star spangled awesome you’d think they would include options for all options that could come on these things. Since I don’t have either the idle stop or the adaptive suspension, id like to get an assembly like that with the buttons so I can use them for something else instead of installing my own switches/buttons. I can’t even look up wiring diagrams from interactive network for the 2 buttons.
