I just set mine up on the unused buttons on the left side. It's a magnetic wireless charging mount. The charge cable also has magnetic clips so if I want to use android auto instead of just bluetooth I just have to pull the cable out and snap it onto my phone.

...so I made some minor but great changes... I bought the WizGear magnetic mount and replaced the one that the CLEC one came with with the one from WizGear. It is much larger and much stronger and keeps the phone from vibrating/wiggling considerably less while driving. The ball and sockets are the same size and the supplied nuts are also the same so it was just a quick swap of parts. Using the WizGear nut also allows for a bit more range of motion due to the outer size of the nut being smaller. This is now a really great mount.

CLEC mount...

WizGear mount...

I searched for a solution for mounting my phone in my Type R. When I stumbled upon your post it made the most sense for what I was looking for. I liked how clean this was, and yeah I had to buy the two mounts to combine parts, but the wiz-gears 6 magnet mount is substantially more stable than 4 magnets.

Thank you for sharing @06S2k07Si

I just purchased this same one yesterday (just from the $15.99 seller instead). Looking forward to getting it. How long did it take to get yours?

Absolutely love this mount. Looks so clean! Ended up getting a different cradle with wireless charging and routing the wire behind the trim so it looks completely clean.
Question for you! What kind of wireless charger are you using in the top pic? And does it fit in to the oem clec mount that fits over the hazard button?
Thanks!

Lol this steering wheel cover looks familiar. After a year it turned orange!

Nice job on the mount, I really dig it.

i bought a wireless car charger phone holder once I buy a new iPhone 11 max to use in my civic,
We are always been told that you should not use a mobile phone while driving at all. But in reality, for many drivers, it’s the source for navigation, information, messages, music, and (of course) phone calls. However, if you hold the phone in your hand as you drive—or look down at it in a cupholder or center-console bin—it can also be a major distraction and safety risk. In order to keep safe during driving, I bought this wireless car charging from wireless520, the brand of sinregeek, which was said a very professional brand of wireless chargers, after month's using, yes, it is not bad.

The wireless car charging mount from sinregeek is really useful
Couldn't be happier with this purchase. I have mine on the dash of mine car. I only had to follow the directions one time to get it installed and holding correctly. It holds my iPhone 8+ in an otter box case like a champ! I purchased another one for our ambulances & the crews have the same reviews about the device. If it will hold strong in an ambulance during emergency driving - I'd say it will hold for pretty much anybody else, lol!!

IKEA has these wooden planks with slots cut into them that fit most phones and they just happen to fit in the cubby under the entertainment system. Low tech and cheap

Thanks for sharing this as I really like my phone to the left of the steering wheel (always have) and did something very similar. I ended running the USB-C cord underneth the steering column, made a small hole in one of the blank dash plugs, and mounted a magnetic base. Its a simple setup that has been working out well.

I have been using the DAYA Tuning phone mount for a few weeks and found it to be perfect. Mounts in the perfect location and very stable. High quality mount that is very well engineered
