I use 93 octane which is readily available everywhere in my neck of the woods but am curious to whether people think 93 octane gas from any gas station is different from another other than additives since a well placed industry executive told me it's all the same other than just that. He said in areas where they have ethanol, it may be a different blend, but station to station its the same but for cleaning additives.

Right on bruh tell them! I also fill up with 94 octane and I daily drive my R.
I was using Costco since it’s top tier, but after hearing of several members have issues with it, I’m paying a premium for piece of mind with Shell 93

Always 93 from Costco and try to not let the gas gauge fall below a quarter of a tank.

Silly question but does anyone put regular 87 octane gas in their CTR? Will it be “bad” for the engine or does it just effect performance?

I highly doubt anyone is doing that intentionally. You can experience knock, resulting in engine damage if you’re driving it hard. If you can afford a CTR you can afford premium fuel

Gotcha, just checking. I’m a cheap bastard. Two kids in college and third in a couple years, yada, yada,yada...hahah!

Thought I read ok for regular unleaded but must’ve been just for the Civic with the 1.5L engine.
Thanks!!!

Honda recommends premium fuel with 87 being the minimum requirement. 87 can still cause knocking but is supported by Honda.
