Quick questions to anyone that may had a look at the CivicX suspension.

Have anyone lifted the carpet in the trunk to see if you can access the rear suspension?

The reason for that is the dampening adjustment for the coilovers can either be located at the top or the bottom of the top mount, each have it's pro and con.

1. Adjuster Located at the top of the damper:
It will mean if there are carpet in the way, it will need to be moved out of the way.
I can include a small damping cable, but it will mean you need to drill a small 5mm hole in the carpet to feed the cable through.
What this mean is you can just pop the trunk and adjust the rear damping, no need to craw around the floor.

Here is one installed in a Miata, not a major issue but drilling into a new car part none the less.

2. Adjuster located at the bottom of the top mount
Guarantee that nothing need to be drilled.
However, as the adjuster is under the top mount, it is difficult to get to.
Generally speaking, you will need to jack up the car to create enough wheel gap so you an reach the adjuster wheel.
This make adjustment very difficult, but it does mean you don't have to worry about drilling anything.

Just want to see what option you guys prefer?
And if anyone know if there are many "metal" between the trunk and the top mount.
It is a new OEM thing about completely sealing off the trunk so I thought I check with you just in case. :)

Yes I have looked under the carpet but how the chassis is made, there's no access to the top mount of the strut. It's blocked off by wall of metal. Not sure how to explain.

On my old Accord the coilover damping knobs were only accessible if you remove the rear deck from the rear seats. No access from trunk.

Yep, thought so... it is call new car design and damn those engineers!
The latest trend is to block it off with metal so you remove the suspension from under the car.

If that is the case the only way to have a damper adjustment is to locate it under the top mount.
That way you can get to the adjustment, but you may need to lay on the ground or lift the rear a little bit to get your hand in.

It isn't a major issue as once you find the setting you will seldom adjust the damper.
It just make the initial setup a pain to do.

I personally like to have access to it.
But if the entire section is block off by metal, then the only way to get to it is underneath or drill through the metal.

Anyone want to have a quick look?
Because if we "can" get access to the top mount, then a long cable can save us from crawling on the ground or jacking the car up every time we want a change.
