ACT Clutch + Lightweight Flywheel Unboxing & Review

After 1 or 2 WOTs I do think I may need to upgrade to a Spec or eman CMC as from 2nd to 3rd, it seemed to have a lockout issue on those couple pulls I did. Any recommendations on whether to buy emans or specs CMC?

Spec is just a Wilwood kit and Eman’s is a modified oem unit I believe. Personally I’d go with the Eman kit but I have no actual experience with either.

Can you guys include us, the more challenged, as to what cmc is and what this lockout issue is? I may be the only one, but I’m not following what is actually going on. Clutch master cylinder for cmc?

Also, is this an issue also on oem clutch setups or does it only happen on aftermarket clutches?

CMC is the clutch master cylinder. At high rpm on stronger aftermarket clutches the cmc doesn’t move enough fluid to fully disengage keeping you from changing gears. An upgraded CMC is modified to move more fluid allowing for high rpm shifts with the stronger aftermarket clutches.

After reading through that thread, it looks like either eman or sirimoto CMC is the way to go. Sirimoto does seem a lot cheaper though.

It is such a great clutch so far! I feel no more chatter in any gear! Also no noise from flywheel at idle or when clutch is pushed in!

Can’t wait to do this upgrade. Just waiting on a few more parts.

I would recommend going ahead and also buying a cmc if possible. I am looking further into the sirimoto vs eman cmc

I'm strongly considering the N1 from Sirimoto due to the price and inclusion of the braided ss clutch line.

I messaged sirimoto to see if the clutch master cylinder comes with the slave too for that price.

It doesn't. They have no replacement for the slave cylinder, yet at least.

I placed an order for the N1. I'm not sure how soon I'll get around to doing the clutch though so my feedback might be weeks away

Unfortunately it only comes with the CMC but it is still a great price
