I'm looking for some help as I've never had a tune on a car before but i'm highly interested in Hondata after reading through this and many other forum conversations. A few questions:

Is it as simple as ordering Hondata online with the Instant Jailbreak, download software onto my laptop, then hook it up to the OBDII port when it arrives and load the base maps? I'm sure I'm missing some steps there, but it seems like these are the high-level steps. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I load the base maps of 91 and 93 octane, and run the 93 octane as that is most common around where I live, how hard is it to switch to the 91 tune in case I take the car on a road trip and can only find 91? Would I need to take my laptop with me or is there a way to "switch between the 2 tunes" without a laptop?

Do I have to go through each base tune and add things like Traction Control or do the base tunes come with that already loaded?

So far I only have the PRL High Volume intake on the car but plan to do more to it once I get the Hondata installed. I just want to be somewhat knowledgeable when I start the journey of a tuned car so I hopefully don't do anything stupid. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Traction control, throttle responsiveness, Rev limits, boost limits etc. Are under modifications, when you select a basemap the modifications window will be the first thing to pop up, go through and check what you want and close it then it will apply, you can always go back to it by hitting the "mods" tab along the top.

Now has anyone ran into an issue where if you drive somewhere, get out/turn the car off and say for example run into a gas station then come back out and the car won't start, the starter will just turn and turn. It's not like the battery is dead, when it's failing to start it's not like the dash or anything is flashing or dimming. I put my fluke meter on the terminals and it reads 13v both while the car is off and when it is running.
This has happened just recently after flashing a new tune. The car also won't start in R mode even though it's most certainly selected. I tried to reflash it twice with the same result. I may have to flash it back to stock then re flash the current tune. The only change I had made from previously is I just set the Rev limit to 7,200rpm and lowered a couple areas of tourque tables. It's quite frustrating

Yes, this issue happened to me twice so far.

Any fix, or just flash to stock and then reflash?
First time - I tried cranking it too much, injectors got flooded. Shop cleaned it out and car started working.

Second time - I towed it to Honda, soon as it arrived, it started working.

Honda did a bunch of tests and found nothing wrong. They won't help me any further until it breaks down again, told me to make a video next time.

Never tried reflashing during the two times.

Do you have the PRL HVI? This started happening to me only after installing the Intake :s

Hmm. If I wait a little bit it will start back up. It's just annoying/embarrassing to go get back in your brand new car and it won't start.

Waiting a bit fixes it? I'll try that next time.

Yeah - it's really annoying.

When im out I always get anxiety now whether the car will start or not.

Yeah. If it does it I wait a minute then switch it on the accessory mode for a few seconds, and then start it. That seems to work

I will note that down!

1. Flash it
2. Wait a minute (powered off after flashing or in accessory mode?)
3. Accessory mode for a few seconds then try to start it?

Im reflashing back to stock 93 octane without me upping torque/IGN/air charge to see if it's because of any parameters I set.

Are you also getting random emission system problem light?

@Hondata any insights as to what in the tune can be causing this? Someone else is having the same issue as myself where the car would randomly decide not turn over when trying to crank with a tune.

I haven't re flashed it lately but it still will fail to start if turning it off and then starting it up to go drive off. If it fails to start I'll switch it off for a minute or two. Then I'll turn it on to accessory mode (two ignition presses without the clutch) wait a second, and then start it. It's not fullproof but I've had the most success with that method.

@Hondata

I've added a datalog, if you can take a look would be much appreciated!

This is the first we've ever heard of this problem.

Please use the Send Feedback to Hondata option from the FlashProManager software with everything plugged in and switched on. Make sure you send the calibration and hardware info.

I do not suggest involving Honda until you return to stock and unlock otherwise they will follow their troubleshooting chart and replace the ECU unnecessarily.

I'll send one over and then when my car stops working again I'll send that one over as well

Thanks for the report. Can you send it again with the calibration you use? (the calibration sent from the report was from an Accord).
