If so, I'm thinking of moving from the East coast for several reasons, one being the cost of living. Just want to know if anyone can come in, good or bad about living there.

I have family in Little Rock, i visit alot. Very nice community from what i can tell. Cost of living is going to be way lower compared to what your used too. I really like it there.

Thanks for the info! I thought about Oklahoma, which I see you are from, but I don't like that word Tornado, lol
I did do some research and it listed little rock as a bit of a high crime area, is there any truth in that? Of course where I live, people get shot out in the street amongst other stuff :(

How’s Oklahoma when I moved to south west Florida five years ago the cost of living is ok and less people I originally came from Long Island now more and more people are moving here the weather is great and I like the beaches but the retirees think they own the state and you have to bow to them plus the jobs suck

I really couldn't give an honest answer to your crime rate question. My sister lives in , what i would consider, a nice neighborhood and the subject has never come up! For what its worth i feel safer on a friday night out on the town in little rock than i ever did in Minneapolis/st Paul, where i grew up. Like any major city, im sure there are places to steer clear of.

Arkansas still has some nasty tornados as well! Not as many as oklahoma but much more than youre likely used too haha.

The tornados can be scary but if you can get over that, i highly recommend oklahoma. People are just nicer down here compared to up north. Southern hospitality is still alive, its refreshing.

The only thing i haye is the humidity. But your from florida so you are likely used to a constant 85% humidity. I really like it here other than that.

Your state also put a 1957 Plymouth in a time capsule I read about this back in the 80s in a car magazine ( I think motor trend ) i couldn’t wait until 2007 to see what it would look like unfortunately it was a rust bucket :(
Can’t wait to see what the 1998 Plymouth prowler will look like in 2048 I’ll be 80 then hopefully but for you oklahomans to put a car in a time capsule two times 1957 & 1998 you got to be cool

I didn’t like the word hurricane but the 5 years I’ve been in Florida there was one that missed us “ Irma “ the last 10 years I lived on Long Island we were hit with large snow storms every year and from what I understand they still get hit hard so it doesn’t matter where you live bad weather is still going to come

Each region seems to have a unique bullet to dodge when it comes to weather.

True the west coast of Florida doesn’t get hit much as the East coast with hurricanes. When I lived on Long Island we were hit with two big hurricanes 1976 Bell ( I was 8 years old) and Gloria 1985 ( I was 17 and starting 12 th grade when it hit) it took out half of the Hamptons but true some stats dodge the nasty storms
But my older sister lives in Arizona and says that the sand storms could be bad at times

Well guys ,it seems that where I live, the weather is the only thing good, cause i think we've only had one tornado in the last 30 years, and I'm far enough of the coast where all that hurricane and horrible other weather seems to miss us. Winters aren't TOO BAD, it's been about 25 outside last two nights but we only get a few months of that crap. Doesn't really get hotter than 98 most summers, but it's just too high for the cost of living here. We are both on disability and our little small ass one bedroom apartment is costing us over 900.00.

Texas is also pretty nice and it's definitely much cheaper than the east coast.

For 900.00 you could get a descent apartment down here but I wouldn’t recommend it Florida isn’t that great of a state I myself is looking at Oklahoma and Kentucky :hmm:
