I bought this rear diffuser (EDIT - my coworker told me this is actually called a splitter):

Here's an example picture (hopefully this works):

I went to a local muffer shop (they do custom exhaust work), and he was concerned about the small amount of space to put a muffler (he carries Magnaflow, Flowmaster and some others) between the rear wheels and the back bumper.

Here's what I'm looking for:
I want it to #1 look good (get the exhaust tips through the holes in the diffuser, as big as they can be), and #2 I want it to sound good. When I say "sound good", I mean deeper and louder, but it doesn't have to be crazy loud... not necessarily waking up the neighbors when I turn the car on.

I told muffler guy that I would reach out to the community here, and I'm sure they'll have some great suggestions. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, @Deezy. I've got the car at the muffler shop right now. Just decided to remove both mufflers, and get pipes that go to black powder coated tips through the holes in the rear splitter.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Looks and sounds great (in my opinion):
