I was curious at what type of manual transmission fluid is everyone running? My local shop just put Torco MTF in it after 44k miles, immediately noticed smoother less crunchy shifts.

The specs on the various brands would be helpful, including the Honda's OEM. If smoother shifts are the result of lower fluid viscosity, the chances of the oil film breaking down might rise, allowing metal-to-metal contact in the transmission. Maybe not after 30k or even 60k. It would be interesting to see how better performance is being achieved.

Maybe photos of the various fluid container labels?

My first oil change at 7K, I changed out the oem mt fluid for Amsoil Synchromesh. For me, it was the best thing I ever did for this car, hands down. Even better than when I installed the TSP stage 1 tune

Amsoil Synchromesh MT all the way.

Huge difference, smooth as butter.

Yes it does.

I takes around 1-2 hours of driving before notice any difference. You know, to let the new oil get into every corner.

After that, it's amazing, the stock notchyness is recuded by a lot.

From my experience, combined with Acuity parts, its not even close to stock feeling.

Swapped it to Redline MTF about 300 miles ago and it shifts like butter. No more notchiness.

Are friction modifiers necessary on helical LSDs?
I actually had this question before buying their Synchromesh and emailed Amsoil support, and they told me that the LSD is independent of the MT. Meaning the fluid from the transmission does not lubricate the LSD. If I find the email from them (which was last year) I will post it

Email from Amsoil is below

Yeah, it's for sure a good cheap investment. For me it made reverse a lot better too.

Ha ha you are right. A second look and you can just see the hint of condescending rudeness. I think they just get thousands of emails and are irritated by the same questions
