Do the 2020 "redesigned" LED headlights have better light output ?

I remember Honda stating that 2020 models that have LED headlights will get a refresh.

Just wondering if it's just cosmetic or if they actually have brighter/better light output.

Maybe someone who upgraded to a 2020 model can chime in?

Thanks!

I'm just curious if they're any different than the 2016-2018 Touring LED headlights, which I have on my Si (never drove with the halogens on, btw).

They might be, if those were lowly rated. Not because of their light output, but because of their blinding other drivers, or what have you. Now they have blacked out LED's, but I don't know if they also cut off the high point more too.

I have the 2020 hatch sport and I see no difference in the front headlights in regards to the output. So i believe it is purely cosmetic. What I hate is when it is raining and I driving at night on a road with no street lights, it is almost as if I have no headlights, scary. My 2017 Hatch Sport did the same thing.

I thought it was only the Sport Touring model that got the new lights? From the specs it seems that way.

The si got em too
I sure hope they are good enough with the updated lights. My old 35 sedan with HIDs was pretty damn nice and would be a bit bummed if the view was poor in dimly lit areas with the sport touring.

My low beams with fogs are brighter than my high beams. They are ridiculously bright, people flash their brights at me every single night.

The only use the high beams have is to shine farther out onto the road. I have no complaints at all.

That is good news my friend :) One less thing to be worried about heh. Do you also have the LED fog lights? Kinda considering buying those as an aftermarket part instead of from the factory.

Yep led fogs came on the si also in 2020. They fill out the, usually, dead spot below the low beams perfectly. And match their brightness too boot

I think the release from Honda said that the beam battern on the Sport Touring LED lamps would be wider and longer. No other details provided.
Do you remember the link for this? I thought they stated "updated" or something to that effect.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are halogens, right?

I could have sworn Honda said they tweaked the LED headlights so that the output is longer and wider, but I've still not seen anyone with a '19 Touring post any shots to compare.

The LEDs on my 2020 Si sedan are blindingly bright.

I get flashed all the time at night by people coming towards me or people behind me will put on their high-beams (people that I passed or they were ahead of me and slowed down a bunch to make me pass them because they think my high-beams are on) in some sort of retaliation for their thinking I am driving with high-beams on on purpose.

I pulled up to a store window to see what exactly my high-beams did. The high-beams are no brighter that the low-beams, they are just an extra, higher-placed light that turns on....So it is almost like driving around with high-beams on all the time...
