I would have been very happy with the SI, great car. It probably suits my actual needs better then the CTR. The CTR is an amazing vehicle. $4467 off MSRP, makes this super car also a super deal.
There’s more to the story. There has to be. That rebate is close to twice the profit on a CTR at msrp. It just doesn’t make sense. How can some dealers charge thousands over msrp and this dealer decided to take a $2000 to $2500 LOSS on a model that they get one or two a year? Perhaps it was a demo? Perhaps it had damage? Repaired damage? If the dealership didn’t want to have the car in inventory, there would be dozens of other dealerships willing to take it off of their hands at cost. No need to lose a couple of grand. Just doesn’t make sense.

eh, who cares if theres more to the story. Some of the people here care way too much about others paid for their car.
If he enjoys his and you enjoy yours, who cares what the price was or what other "add-ons" there are. We are all here just for one common interest.

my dealership has gotten 12 per year since i started, ive sold 8 of them since the beginning of last year, they are limited but not that limited and there are some dealerships that operate on volume only and make their profits on total retail units sold over the whole year no need to justify it he got a great deal because the coupon had no disclaimer and would not hold up in small claims.

I agree completely. I kept waiting for something to occur like some unwanted overpriced add-ons, weird fees or something to happen. The $869 for road hazards seems to be inline (not a great deal, maybe average to high) with what I've seen on this forum. There was a $235 financing fee that may be suspect. I can live with these. There was only 10 miles on the odometer, so it wasn't raced around. It made no sense to me also. My natural distrust of car dealers kept trying to figure out what I was missing. My dealer whom I (and my sons) have been buying Hondas from for 27 years would only go 600 below MSRP. While I feel bad for my salesman (same one for 25yrs), not the dealership, I couldn't turn down a deal like this.

So it makes no sense to me, but I will be enjoying my car.

I agree. If they had called back and said that it did not apply to the Type R, I would have okay thanks, the end. I'd still be waiting for an SI. I was completely shocked when they said I could get the deal on the CTR. Before I went in I asked him to send me the OTD number including tax. The rest is history. They are doing major construction, maybe wanting to free space? I don't think so.
The salesman didn't seem to know, he offered the reason being the 20's were coming in. I don't think so.

I never dealt with dealership before, never had met the salesman before. Deal all done on the phone, no negotiation. Bam, here it is.

I'm mystified.

I’m in the process of buying the SGP from the same dealership he got his from. I got mine at invoice. Maybe they’re just trying to move units since it’s the end of the year

I'm glad you followed up. Great deal!!
They also have a 2017 PMM, under 5000 miles, listed for 32500. Looks great and I bet you can negotiate a better deal.

I thought so too! They wouldn’t give me 12% because I’m an out of state buyer. But invoice isn’t too bad ;)
