Get a '19 if you want that sweet, sweet volume knob
Are there many differences between the 17/18 and the 19 cars? I can’t seem to find much other than the knob as stated and maybe different factory wheel options.

Also for others reading this, I was hoping to find a lease trade in used.

The more I think about it the less the Si makes sense for me. My current car is a wagon, which I love the space and use it a fair bit, enough to justify looking at the hatchback civic. I also, do not need the extra power the Si makes over the stock 1.5t stick shift civic. That was more of a plus. The hatch will also get better MPG than the Si, be less to insure, and as a bigger guy over 6'2, and not thin, the non sporty seats of the hatchback make more sense than the Si, not to mention the girlfriend made a comment when sitting in an Si before I got my wagon. Compound this with the fact that my moms car is the 16 Sedan and I am currently driving that as my wagon is in for warranty work, and I quite like it aside from the fact that it is not a stick (which to be fair the CVT is not terrible by any means, I just miss driving a stick daily), and my girl likes the seats more. What is your guys input with these thoughts in mind? I won't be tracking the car, or really carving any canyons either, not any more than the stock civic platform can support. If I really feel the need for more power I would also be able to just tune the 1.5t that comes in the hatchback to make a bit more power no?

The seats in the Si are not big boy friendly. 6’2” your head would be basically touching the headliner in the 2 dr coupe. The 4 door Si gives you more head room.
Sounds like the sport hatch is your jam. Cheaper than an Si too.

See the only issue with the sport hatch is that it seems its a bastard love child of some Si stuff and normal hatchback stuff. One of the bastard things is the smaller center head unit display. I have yet to see a used one with a manual have the bigger center display... That is a must have for me, sounds petty but the small ones look really cheap and downgrade the whole interior... They have a few sport touring hatchbacks in manual here or there but they are pricey since they are top line and loaded. Ill keep on looking for sure, but the sport with the bigger screen and manual would likely be fine for me. Also heated seats, must have heated seats for the lady, I don't wanna hear any complaints abut cold cheeks lol.

I believe the new sport trims get the better infotainment now.

Lol, only issue is getting stuck with buying new then killing the warranty in 1 year lol. Id be hit with a pretty fat amount of depreciation. Seems I wont be able to find what I want, and the manual for the hatchback is the sticking point for a decent interior infotainment set up... Maybe the CVT unless I can find a perfect sport touring at a perfect price is my only option.. Least its not a terrible trans, and gets the car moving well... Will be smoother than the DSG in my wagon now...

I will likely be driving about 30-35k+ a year. Daily commute will be a minimum of 120 miles round trip to work and back home, plus whatever I do on the weekends for fun with the lady. My parents are saying I should not rule out a new car rather than used in case the rates are better and I can get a good deal which makes sense. but used is still where I am doing most of my looking because of the better price and avoiding the major depreciation from the first year of ownership. I will look at both sets of numbers when I am ready to buy, but I still think used makes the most sense so that I can pay off student loans earlier as I would be paying less on a used than a new car.
