Hi all, first post!
Been getting an A/C noise. It almost sounds like a high pitched dry bearing sound. In fact when I first heard it, I laughed because my Millwright instincts thought it was the car in front of me with bad wheel bearings lol. Turns out it was me, doh.
It happens when the car is revving low (ex: stopped, out of gear ex, idling). Revving up makes it go away, or at least I can't hear it. I've also looked under the hood when this is happening and everything sound solid, no belt squeaks or the like. Air seems to be getting cold, I think, don't really remember how it was last year. Sound goes away when A/C is turned off.
I brought her in for the MM 9 service and got them to check out the A/C sound at around 55, 000Km; they were unable to find anything and documented as such. Brought it in a couple days ago as my clock is about 55, 700Km and want to get it addressed before the 60K warranty is up.
Talked to the Honda shop foreman, not very helpful. Even brought a USB stick with the video. Wasn't too interested in viewing it (his computer didn't have external speakers, but I'm sure someone does). Also said that it's documented that I brought it in before warranty is up "doesn't mean anything".
I've embedded a couple clips with the sound. You'll have to turn up the volume as my iPhone mic isn't that good.
Thanks.
