Great, please let as all know how it goes!
Fuse space #1 in the interior power distribution center (fuse block) was the "acc" fuse, my mini fuse circuit tap I purchased still held fuses larger than the low profile mini-fuse that was in the fuse block, but the dimensions of the two different fuses were electrically compatible so it worked. I replaced the 10 A circuit low profile mini fuse with my mini fuse circuit tap and a 10A fuse for the original circuit, and added a second 10A for my Sat radio cradle.
I got my ground connection from the piece of metal behind the panel that has my traction control switch, etc on it and ran the harness along the top inside edge of the bottom knee panel to the bi-level console area, taped it all in a discreet fashion and started the car - the cradle powered up
shutting the car off shuts the cradle down.

exactly what I was after

Finally got a chance today to install that USB-C / PD charger. I ended up using an add-a-fuse to socket 1, the 10A "Accessory" fuse. There were a couple of other sockets that would come on with accessory power, but I wasn't sure if I should tap into those. Two of them were for the rear left and right windows then a socket marked as "Option", but with a 20A fuse in it.

I used a 5A fuse for the USB-C / PD charger. Works just fine with the QI wireless phone holder.
