I’m thinking about buying this tuner, however i do not have a PC i own a mac. could i put this tune on with a mac or does it require a PC? Also, does anyone run this tune and have a recommendation on how it runs with the civic?
Side note- to get the tuner view on the stock head unit, would this be possible to do with the ktuner or would i have to buy something else to hack into the head unit?

I got KTuner 1.2 a couple of weeks ago, and recommend it. I love it, mostly for the throttle response so far above all else. I like the disabled rev hang too, but I hit the CC button and bring rev hang back on when I'm in low gears and low RPM's (otherwise the car will judder), like in a residential area.

I believe you need a PC for v1.2, though. That's what I had to use, especially to put on the TSP Stage 1 tune.

I also think people are using v1.2 with HondaHack or something to get into the headunit and have a lite version of TunerView.

so is tunerview a separate application? sorry i’m a noob when it comes to tuning. i installed a prl sri on my civic a week ago and figured a tune would only make the car run all the better and figured i could put tunerview on to monitor the car better than the stock gauges do but wasn’t sure how to hack the head unit

Tunerview is different. It’s on ktuners site. You load it to a usb drive then load it to the car but you need Honda hack first. There’s lots of YouTube videos on it. I also believe you need a PC with ktuner.

Oh and also, did you notice any horsepower gains with the tune and anything you like and dislike about this tune? thank you for the help!

I'm not the big car guru so I'm not the one to ask. I immediately noticed HP gains, though. I'm not going past 20 psi until/unless I go for a new clutch, but I pass people on the highway like nobody's business now. Again though, I think a lot of it has to do with the throttle response. There isn't really that "lag" anymore that has you ask when something is going to occur. You also get power all the way up to redline instead of having it fall flat around 5k RPM.

I can't say I have witnessed any drawbacks, other than it makes you want to be a racer. I'm staying exclusively on Map 3 for the time being, by the way.

237whp / 281tq - TSP Stage 1 Tune

Map 1: Factory boost levels and turbocharger response.
Map 2: 19psi normal, 21psi "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II
Map 3: 19psi normal, custom boost level "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II

In case that doesn't do anything for you, this gif basically denotes the transition from Map 1 - 3:

Not sure if it works on mac, but usually configuring a windows vm lets you run windows applications so I don't see why taking that route wouldn't work

Theses are not maps, they are different dyno runs on different tunes.

As far as I’m aware, no one has taken the time to dyno each of the 3 on the fly maps on the TSP Stage 1 tune.

The first one is stock Si dyno, factory tune. The second is KTuner Starter 23psi Tune - done by KTuner. The third is TSP Stage 1 (in map3 Sport Mode on) - done by DRob.

From their product page

https://twostepperformance.com/two-step-performance-tsp-stage-1-tune-for-2017-2019-honda-civic-si/

Map 1: Factory boost levels and turbocharger response.
Map 2: 19psi normal, 21psi "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II
Map 3: 19psi normal, custom boost level "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II

As to general questions on TSP Stage 1 for the Si, there is a pretty lengthy thread the tune has been discussed with a good deal of reviews. If you don’t find what you want that’s already been discussed in the year and a half the tune has been out and that thread being active, you can certainly add to the existing thread.

You will need to load BoostCamp, Parallels, or a similar Mac software, in order to run KTuner's software management.

If you end up going that route, I'd recommend stepping up to a V2 so you don't constantly have to rely on the Mac. According to some users, the Mac's USB drivers can be hit or miss when connecting to other devices in PC run mode.

Seriously though a Ktuner is by far the best mod if you want immediate hp gains. It wakes the car up so much! You're not gonna burn out your clutch by going over 20 psi unless you're doing it in 5th or 6th gear. If you drive normal with the occasional spongebob "floor it" moment you have nothing to worry about as this car can take it with no problem.

Look up Tunerview and honda hack and how to install it. You can do a thread search for HondaHack and there will be links to the website. Once you have it installed, Tunerview is pretty simple to install as well. I would suggest running map 1 or 2. Some people drive on Map 3 and claim to have no issues on stock clutch but i'm too paranoid. Maybe if i had the money available for a clutch I would, but right now I want my clutch to last a while.

Honda Civic 10th gen About the Ktuner 1.2 with TSP tune giphy

Yep. I'm running map 3 daily... because I had TSP make it an inverted map lineup with 24.5# map as my map 1. I never have to switch... it's always on. Reflashed on TSP Stage 1 since 7/31/18 and for well over 10k miles by now... and ran basemaps for months before that.

I get you on being gentle on the car until you can pay to play if your clutch decides it doesn't want to hold out. That's wise.

My stock clutch is fine though. The "hot" map is what makes TSP Stage 1 so special. Once you're in a good spot... let her rip! Map 2 is pretty similar to Ktuner's basemaps with some enables.
