Same here, I contacted PRL’s support team and was told to follow their install guide. My mechanic, which has an FK8 himself and has worked for Honda over 15 years attempted several different ways to get to install correctly and was unable to. It seems that although I’ve sent PRL photos and explanations they continue to insinuate that I’m installing it incorrectly. Glad to know I’m not the only one facing poor fitment on their HVI system.

Installed my replacement hose yesterday. Definitely fits a lot better than my first one.

I went to Home Depot and picked up some M5-0.8x10mm bolts, washer and blue Loctite yesterday. Definitely get more torque with the Philips head, and with the washer, I could feel the resistance when removing the bolts. Not aesthetically pleasing as the other bolts, but I'm confident these will stay on.

By looking at the pictures, it appears that the hose just needs rotated/orientated a bit differently. Most of the fitment issues have been resolved by the adjustment of the hose, though we have had to send a few hoses out from the first batch. We have since designed a jig that is used to test each hose for proper length/depth before shipping and have not had an issue since the implementation of this. Not to say that one may not have slipped through the cracks, we are just asking for one more "go" at the adjustment of a hose. The only thing needed for this is a flat-head screwdriver and a few minutes of time.

Thanks for the quick response. Prior to reaching out to your support team I explained that this was already attempted “several times”. Believe me, I’m a PRL supporter and not just someone who wants to critique your products. I currently own your Intercooler, HVI, Downpipe and Frontpipe. Additionally, I have the FK8 Titanium Turbo inlet on pre-ordered. Not sure how many more times I would have to try in order to at the very least be offered a replacement hose. The system is only 1 week old. Thanks for understanding.

Are the next batch (12/20) going to come with better securing screws, or with lock washers? Or should I plan on picking some up from home Depot when mine gets delivered?

There is nothing wrong with the supplied hardware, which have been the same since batch #1. Our bolts are high-quality US grade stainless bolts with oversized washers. So long as the bolts are torqued to spec there will be no problems. Blue Loctite can also be used for piece of mind.

there should be no reason to. Don't use the L shaped allen key and use an actual allen socket and you should be fine. Mine is all still there.

i did use blue loctite when i installed it for a friend though.

Cool. I have a torque wrench but it's pretty gigantic. Will have to use the angled elbow

i didn't torque mine. I just used a 1/4" ratchet with an allen socket. the L shaped allen keys depending on the length of the L, might not give you enough torque.

just put on some blue loctite if you want to be sure

You supply flange head bolts. No washers. I know you guys are incapable of making mistakes up there and won’t own up to your incompetence so just carry on.

Good morning, I'm still waiting for a solution. Is someone going to message me to start the process for a replacement hose under warranty? If not, how can I start the RMA process to return the entire intake. At the time of notification to your company I had the intake for less than a week. FYI, I attempted to reseat the silicone hose as directed and it is STILL too short on the turbo inlet side.

There is no need to for a washer with flanged-head bolts, which is why we and most other manufactures do not supply washers when flanged head bolts. Of course we make me stakes, it's impossible not. Our hardware and design is not the issue here, though.

Have you tried following up in correspondence to the email chain? I'm not quite sure what's going on here, but we always recommend email/phone communication due to the fact things tend to slip through the cracks with all of the various communication outlets.

Yeah, with a flange bolt you don't need a separate washer. I was just curious since people were complaining about them backing out due to vibrations/movement from the engine. Should be fine if you tourque them well. I hate Allen bolts with a passion haha, hex head bolts are the best. Outside hexed, not the inside... So you can use a nut driver.

If I was too worried I'm sure lock washers would be fine in addition. I use them when we hang big transformers from the ceiling at work and they work very well. The process of getting one up there is no fun at all, especially above 75kva. Even with a chainfall.:D
