Coming from a IS250 F Sport to the Civic HB, and now seeing the redesigned Acura(s). I see some resemblance or similar styles; other car manufactures are replicating i.g Chevy and Hyundai.

However, the Acura is more favored brand for me.

I am considering if I should sell my 2018 Civic HB, in replacement for the 2019/2020 Acura ILX.
As for trim, as much as I like the A-spec's interior cosmetics. The Standard has everything that is not A-Spec, but a much affordable price.

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new ILX and its dual clutch tranny over the single tranny of the Civic.
If you have both 10th Gen and 2019+ ILX. Any insight as far the two compared and, in the following areas?

1) MPG
2) Suspension performance OOB (Out-of the-Box).
3) Cargo space overall? Yes, I know we are comparing a HB to a sedan/coupe here. However, does the rear seats fold completely flat?

Be warned, the ILX interior is very dated - the car still rides on the 9th gen Civic platform. The infotainment is older than anything the Civic would have. The ride is decent - it's not as refined as a luxury vehicle should be.

I would say the newer Civic interior has a leg up on the ILX, however, I will not deny that the transmission is great.

Rear seats fold 60/40 like most sedans.

You also probably want at least the premium spec. The base ILX is bare. The infotainment on that thing was the same as my 2013 Civic.

Source; My dad has a '17 ILX, but the only changes from that to the 2019 version is the exterior and AcuraWatch becoming standard equipment.

I have to say that, as a guy who grew up with Acuras and was the BIGGEST fan of their earlier models, the ILX is kinda underwhelming. I would equate it to a cheap version of a luxury car, that's still nice to drive but not as fun as a Civic.

The ILX gets decent gas mileage, but it's notably lower than the Civics. Expect 28-29mpg for your regular commuting.

I had the same debate but couldn’t go with an ilx. Yes driving wise it’s what I want with an 8 speed dct and 200hp vs 180hp and a cvt but the interior is beyond dated. Minus leather and CarPlay my old lancer was a nicer place to sit.

I would 100% buy an ilx though if they ever put it on the 10th gen or 11th gen platform
