New to the forum. We are picking up a 2020 Si sedan in mid-December for our son. Even though I like modding cars, the Civic will remain stock (maybe get good Michelin tread). Anyone else ignore the temptation to modify and leave their car stock?

The car is perfect as is. Keep it stock for insurance’s sake. He can mod to his heart’s content by using his own spare change.

So far I plan to leave the car pretty much stock. I'm more than happy with the cars performance.
[Still trippin on the new car I got a couple days ago]. These days I'd rather buy a car that already has the performance I want than modify one to a higher level. and that's what I did with the Si. But then I'm 66 years old, and probably have a different perspective than someone younger.
You can say "OK Boomer" and I don't take any offence to that at all.

I think it’s a wise choice, unless you have deep pockets and are prepared for the added expenses with modifying your car. I’m 28 years old and have a small family, so I consider myself lucky to be able to have this type of car and my wife backing me up with it. I’ve done light cosmetic mods, and will probably continue doing some with time. I rather keep the car stock and push it’s limits and test Honda’s reliability. That’s my opinión.

Mine will stay stock, for now, aside from the rear motor mount. There is way to much slop in the stock mount and it causes jolting unless you shift perfectly. Drive around in 1st gear and let off the gas and you'll understand what i mean.

Other than mount and tint, i cant bring myself to mod much else in such a new car. Ill get the itch someday

Not going to tune it but the MAPerformance quad-tip exhaust has caught my eye. Thinking to grab one (Street version with the single muffler) to go with my Z :D

I did the full circle with this. Purchased and modified lightly. My next one is being built as we speak so I can do it all over again and leave alone. The juice wasnt worth the squeeze ultimately for me considering what else I have access to power wise.

Well the dealer put tinted windows on mine before I bought it. Then I installed a K&N air filter for um, mileage;). Then I installed a stiffer Rear Motor Mount, because I got tired of the cruise control wandering about. It also helps with the engine flop.

After 73,000 miles, if the right Black Friday sale appears, I may give it a "tune up".

Hahaha can’t debate with that logic!

Some good tires and some good UV blocking ceramic window tint are Very welcome upgrades to the car.

Stock tires perform very poorly in wet conditions.

Are there any rear motor mounts that don't cause vibration at rest, though?

Anyway, I planned on only being stock with just a KTuner (which I only got last week), but got a little too giddy and ended up caving and getting a PRL CAI and intercooler. They have yet to arrive.

I also just tinted my windows, and side markers were my very first change on my very first night (plus LED headlights). Those are really just cosmetic mods, though.

Also not exactly a "mod," but I am not on the stock tires anymore and went straight to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

Down the line, if I ever go for a new clutch, I will get a Stage 2 tune with a flex fuel kit.

Perrin rear motor mount inserts seem to be what you are looking for. I wanted the same as you and i landed on them as a solution.

I have a Type R rmm I'm going to eventually put in. I'm probably going to Windoweld it. Is supposed to be stiffer but without the nvh

Thanks, I'll definitely have to look into these!
