Anyone have the W1 turbo that has been using the base maps provided by Ktuner? Any issues? I have TSP Stage 1 tune that has been very reliable, but wanted a little performance boost up top, but do not want to pay for a pro tune right away (I want to run 93, not e85 right away). Most important factor is reliability really, one other reason I am considering this turbo is I have read it is easier on the rods. Any input is appreciated.

Well I know my answer can come off bias but the original car that we used to create the basemap has been on it for about 27k now with no issues.

Same here, I’ve been running it since back in may. Have had no issues on it. I’m now in the process of doing a custom tune with drob

How does this compare to TSP stage 1?
TSP stage one is a great tune but it is designed for an OEM Turbo. The W1 base map is just like it sounds, for a W1 turbo kit upgrade.

Do you know if you or Ktuner have a side by side direct comparison of the pump basemap vs ethanol basemap? Would this be shown on the dyno result article on the W1 on the 27won website?

What do you mean by reliability? I don't think most people using a W1 are running around on the basemap indefinitely. If you're spending that kinda money on the turbo upgrade you should be custom tuning soon after.

@hobby-man reliability as in is the tune safe to run on the track and everyday daily driving. could I run the basemap and not have any issues. also is a protune going to make a lot more power over the basemaps.

I would definitely not be tracking my car on a basemap. Again, just my opinion. I'm sure the basemap is safe, and I'm sure Vincent will tell you as much. But he'll probably also tell you what they tell everyone else - they recommend a custom tune for your specific vehicle in your specific location for best performance.

Yeah I ran the base map for months for daily driving. Didn’t track it. I mean the base map is conservative, so running it should be fine, and you should have no issues. Depends on what other mods you have for sure. Custom tune will usually be more aggressive tune.
